Looking at the scorching sun this morning reminds me of the drought in my husband's pocket 14 years ago.

One february,we were too broke to afford breakfast or even taxi fares from kanyanya to kamwokya. To get a meal, we had to open up an account of sorts at a restaurant in Kamwokya. The owner is such a good mutooro man. He let us eat any day anytime and my husband paid after several weeks whenever he got money.
We walked from our muzigo in kanyanya,through Bahai temple,Kyebando and down to Kamwokya everyday.

I am from a well to do family but I chose not to cry to my relatives. During this time me and my husband had dreams and aspirations. He dreams big you know. As we walked through the dust and jumped those dirty myala everyday,we talked. Infact we always found ourselves in kamwokya somehow.

He told me of how he was going to be rich. How his music would never disappear from the surface of this earth. He told me that he would build an empire and his name would never be forgotten.

The story is long..
I later realised that such times were meant to prepare us for a later stage when we had a lot to eat and a car to drive. See,when you are waiting on God to take you to another level, you have to learn to be content. Content with what you are/have at the moment. God is letting you go through such times to prepare you for when you reach that goal you are working so hard to achieve. You know,if you have not gone through the training of being happy and content with little,you will never be happy with a lot. Even if you achieve your dreams,you will be excited for a short while and then your spirit will start yearning for something bigger.

Be happy with the little you have as you dream big. Be patient in times of drought so that when it rains you will appreciate it more.

Me and my husband have learnt to appreciate each season. We are happy when we have a lot and when things seem to be tough. We have the ability to truly enjoy the hard times because we know we are being prepared for when things are better. Don't sit and feel sorry for yourself whenever things are difficult.

As you put your trust and energy in a better tomorrow don't forget that the challenges you are facing today will be your fall back strength in future. Pray, believe, trust and BE PATIENT.

A TRUE STORY!

A girl was living with her uncle becoz her parents died of HIV she was the only child from her mother's womb, she was educated by her uncle from nursery to class 4 and when the girl was in class 4, the uncle saw that the girl was beautiful, he one night went to the girl's room, told the girl that if she doesn't play s*x with him, he will chase her from his place, leave paying fees, the girl tried to cry to uncle but uncle refused to understand. the girl accepted to leave her uncle's place and went to the streets suffering, all the time crying, being hungry,being lonely and the last OPTION she had was to go down on her knees and pray to GOD till GOD answered her prayers. a woman came driving and saw the girl praying she stopped and asked the girl to enter into the car, she took the girl and took her back to school, bought everything as like her daughter, the girl completed education,as we talk right now she has completed University and working at WORLD BANK . Even you, GOD can answer your prayers.

Keep your Degree and Diploma in a safe custody for future opportunity, and engage in entrepreneur skills, otherwise you will die poor.

Most of the educated people in Kenya are poor. Majority of the educated earn less than 30,000 for a salary before tax and other deductions. When the deductions are put into consideration, the net salary comes to around 25,000. The net salary then suffers from loan deductions of up to 10,000 leaving the salary at around 15,000. The landlord then demands for his 4,000 and monthly shopping takes away 8,000 leaving one with a 3,000.That is in Exclusion of bus fare. The whole salary is gone and borrowed money starts operating. The borrowed money includes short loans and salary advances.

The difference between poverty and prosperity is property. A prosperous person has property to his name while a poverty stricken person has no property to show. Using this understanding, therefore, most of the degree holders are poverty stricken, borrowing money to buy chicken and chips, pizza, and a car.

The biggest excuse for getting paid such low amounts of money and having to sit and work for another person for 30 days is THE DEGREE that one possesses and that’s all. This has made most of the degree holders very poor to poverty stricken and will die that way most likely. A degree holder does not know how to generate money unless that money is generated for the employer. A degree holder is so dependent on the salary that he can do anything to get a job but will not think of starting a business of his own to employ others.

1. A degree holder is not prepared to sell chips but is very happy to work for hungry lion (companies).

2. A degree holder is not prepared to sell popcorn in the street but is very happy to work for Hotel outlets in the cities and towns.

3.A degree holder is not prepared to sell second hand clothes but is very happy to be employed by insurance company which the business of selling out the business and looking for customers in a scorching Sun.

4.A degree holder is not prepared to make 150,000 monthly doing his own business but is very happy to work at the till in a bank getting paid 25,000.

5.A degree holder is not prepared to start a company and grow it in two to three years but will spend three years searching for a job.

6.A degree holder is not prepared to sell food to students but will be happy to be reporting to a boss with no qualifications as Office Assistant as long as he is paid 30,000 for a salary.

7. A degree holder is so eager to get out of this country and work in another country than spend time to develop his own country.

8. A degree holder staying in a foreign land (Kenyan) is very keen to condemn Kenyans but never contributing to the development of this country.

9. A Kenyan degree holder would rather sweep the streets of London or USA than start a business to make money in her father land – others work in people’s homes doing some work (cleaners).

10. A degree holder in Kenya will watch p**n on his laptop but never sit to write a book using the same laptop to sell and make money.

11. A degree holder will blame the government for lack of jobs even after he was on government bursary for him to have his degree.

12. Kenya is blessed with young people who have master’s degree and others are doctors in different technical fields such as IT and Engineering but all of them have failed to create a cartoon character or develop a movie from the same instead very happy to buy Tom and Jerry for their children thereby promoting American and UK.

During my student life at TUK, there was a lady in our university from a very humble background who could not construct a proper English statement. She sold Coke, Fanta and Sprite at 80 each making a profit of 10 on each drink. She also sold chips at 50 making a profit of 17 on each portion. Not less than 80 students bought chips and a drank every single day. This means she makes a profit of 27 for a drink and chips and a total profit of 2,160 per day…every single day. In ten days she makes a profit of 21,600 in twenty days 43,200 and in thirty days 64,800.

The degree holder working in a bank at the till gets a salary of 45,000 every month.

Why are the degree holders poor?

Because they have decided to pride themselves in a degree and failed to think better than a man who does not have even a certificate to his name.

Degree holders spend their time liking articles on linkedIn and facebook but never have any care in the world to implement what they like. Poverty starts from the mind, a mind that just likes things but never to implement those things.

If you want to progress, keep that degree and start thinking better than someone without a degree. There's no white collar Job anywhere brother or sister.

Be prepared to get your hands dirty and work like an ox for your business. Your hard work will pay off.

Someone asked me how to deal with stress. This is how it works for someone people 😊
Stress management is easy with these four a's.
1.AVOID: Avoid stressful situations, people or any thing that stresses you by taking control of your surrounding, avoiding people who bother you, learning to say no to demands and responsibilities that are not worth your time, and prioritize your lists in order of importance..
2.ALTER; Take inventory initiatives to deal with the stressors, try to change your changeable situations. This you can do by openly communicate your feelings, manage your time better, communicate your limits in advance and respectively ask people to change their annoying behavior..
3ACCEPT; Accept yourself and the fact that you have no control over your situations like death.. Talk to a trusted friend or counselor, forgive yourself and others fast, practice positive self talk like I AM THE BEST, or I can do this.. With a smile of cos😊...keep it objective still because one negative thought about yourself and the situation can lead to one losing focus and learn from your mistakes and even try correcting them if you can.
4.ADAPT; After avoiding, altering and accepting yourself and the situation adapt to your new situations. For you to adapt easily you have to change your standards and expectations to fit the new situation, stop gloomy thoughts, don't re-open the stressful situations or experience, reframe the issues and look it from a positive point, get to learn the positive lessons from the situations and look it from the pig picture ..create an asset column of things that stresses you and the one that makes you happy.. Concentrate mostly in the happiness column

You asked for 10k and your dad told you he will give you in the morning before he leaves for work, this is after he has thoroughly scrutinised what you needed the money for,all the questions he asked is already making you angry.
Through out the night the man couldn't sleep because he was thinking of how to give you his last 10k.
Morning came and he called you into the room to give you 9k instead of 10k and you squeezed your face in discontent and reluctantly said thank you after complaining its not complete.
Your mum after seeing this will not say anything but will meet you in your room where your dad isn't and give you 2k from her own money and say "don't mind him, use this one to complete it" smile from nowhere will enclave your face, you quickly go to facebook and whatsapp to write "i have the best mum in the world, i love my mum".
Now your dad had gone out again with just 1k in his pocket home and abroad to top up fuel or use as transport to work.
He will never let you see this because he is a MAN.
Always try to appreciate your Dad for no reason because you won't know what your life would have turned out without a fatherly figure in it..

A group of wolves: The three in front are old & sick, they walk in front to set the pace of the running group lest they get left behind. The next five are the strongest & best, they are tasked to protect the front side if there is an attack. The pack in the middle are always protected from any attack. The five behind them are also among the strongest & best; they are tasked to protect the back side if there is an attack. The last one is the LEADER. He ensures that no one is left behind. He keeps the pack unified and on the same path. He is always ready to run in any direction to protect & serves as the 'bodyguard' to the entire group. Just in case anyone wanted to know what it really means to be a leader. It's not about being out front. It means taking care of the team.
