Report From The WUSA Committee on The Leadership Transition Process

27/09/2022

WUSA TRANSITION STATEMENT

Good evening fellow comrades ,,

Am Soo happy today to be reading some texts in here (WUSA Whatsapp Forum) ,,I see a great future ahead for Waso Comrades

Sometimes back we were doing what we called " inclusive Consensus" and it worked and it brought this forum from 2014 upto now ,,,this group was created in 2014 as you can all check for yourselves

We were forced to that because there was minimal interest and participation of our members in such affairs like Wusa politics ,,so the ruling team of those times had no other options

But today,, comrades from all corner of Waso are getting interested in the affairs of this association,,they want to be part and parcel of it ,to own it and push it's agenda forward,to take wusa to greater heights,,to give back to our community and society,,to be responsible young elites,,that's all we have been lacking ,,the lack of participation from members was the reason why we were forced to form a small team of comrades to discuss the process on behalf of many others,,but now I see we have to change the tactics,,I foresee a scenario where we will conduct a transparent, free and fair elective process where all our comrades who are willing will participate in it confidently and proudly Depending on our capabilities,,this will very much simplify our work as outgoing officials,,, infact we will be more quicker in delivering the transition process

For the first time I have seen many quarters are interested in our leadership,,for the first time a lady has shown interest in leading Wusa,,,for the first time I have seen yearn for inclusivity ,,,for the first time I have seen our junior comrades yearning for participation,,,This just makes me very proud Leader

Change is something that should not be feared,,it should be embraced and should be tried,,,if it succeeds well and good ,,,if it fails it's also well and good because we learn from it ,it makes us much stronger 💪,,,

Everyone in here should accept something different of the past ,, together we can try it out and I believe in that despite the outcome ,,we will emerge more stronger and bigger

The rise and fall of Wusa due to change in our process will depend on us and us alone ,,and not the process

So all I urge our members ,, kindly let's all our interest be this forum ,,we have never enjoyed the potential that this forum has ,,,we just tasted it abit when around 245 comrades benefited from Isiolo South bursary in 2021,,our unity from our comrades of Isiolo South bore us that ,,for Isiolo North we tried and failed not for any reason but a small disunity that was among us but we are happy we gave out a really good fight ,,no regrets.. what if the whole Waso students were united and speaking in one voice ,,the outcome will be marvelous
All of us and future generations will get their rights in terms of bursary share and this will help very many more than you can imagine

Let's participate in this democratic process,,all looking for leadership should set their mind that they are all capable and despite the outcome,, WUSA stands first 👆 ,,In as much as we need committed and hardworking officials,we also need committed and hardworking members for the interest of all of us ,,I wish to see efforts in everyone dhiroo,,show me that you can offer ✊🏿

Kind Regards
Thank You So Much
I love you all 🫶

GENERATIONAL NEGLIGENCE BY ISIOLO LEADERS
Viva comrades

Time to support youth as agents of our own future

On behalf of Waso University students association , the land of riverain folks ,the crossroads of our nation we hereby register our dissatisfaction on our leaders for failing to contribute towards our course and failing to honour our invitation to attend Borana university student association Night which is a get- together for our youth and time to enjoy and appreciate our culture as boraan nation.
our leaders have portrayed an act of betrayal by skipping such an auspicious occasion as opposed to their fellow leaders from marsabit county who have always stood by the students from their counties , our leaders are posing themselves as youth supportive leaders during electioneering period by making Clarion call about youthful leadership yet they are same leaders who have in the past five years failed to support youths: the unemployment rate in Isiolo county has hit all time high and no one is doing something about it , the population of youths abusing drugs has increased and no one seems to care , we have to wake up guys and claim our position in the society.

The main objective of organizing the Boraan students night was to raise money for our people who are ravaged by drought and famine in boraan land extending to Ethiopia , our people are facing a calamity never experienced before and on realizing this we came up with a fundraiser to aid our people and cushion them from the drought and it's very unfortunate that our leaders turned down the prospect such an act. Inequality seems to have a way of compounding itself. True leaders are known at a time when their people are facing looming crisis , we have inept leaders in Isiolo who are enjoying cup of coffee at the serenity of their balconies when the common man is suffering due to lack of basic necessities , we are facing a security threat from militias who are patrolling our land carrying illegal rifles , maiming and killing our people and blockading the passage of passenger buses and lorries carrying supplies from Isiolo town , the question is and will be what's the hell is happening to our leaders, why are they not supporting our people , why are they not representing the grievances of our people.

The same leaders are moving by fleet's of vehicles campaigning vigorously making promises of what they will fulfill in the next five inspite of failing to fulfill their last election campaign promises , this politicians are only visible at the end of every election cycle painting themselves as saints .

Our message to them is this: you need youth in time's of elections, mobilizing us to campaign and chant your names but not this time round , we will join hands as youth change the course of elections by voicing our concerns against your neglect and act of segregation and we will show you that we matter , we have votes as we are the majority in this population . We will not be used to cause havoc but we will instead champion for good leadership for our people and we can determine our course, let's voice our concerns and call for change. We will organise ourselves and spearhead a NO VOTE campaign against you ,,We will launch a free Social Media War On You .

Our Comrades,Let's join hands and overcome marginalisation and neglect.

Let's join the conversation

Kind regards
