SHOCKING REVELATIONS OF UON
STUDENTS ON AL-SHABAAB PAYROLL

Students in institutions of higher learning are being recruited into violent extremism at an alarming rate, the director of the National Counter Terrorism Centre, Mr Isaac Ochieng has warned. According to Mr Ochieng, the National Security Intelligence Service (NSIS) already has names of students who have been radicalized and are enjoying salaries from Al-Shabaab and other militia groups affiliated to Al-Qaeda.
“There is increased recruitment, training and indoctrination of the youth into terrorism cells. These terror groups are now targeting brilliant youths to recruit,” said Mr Ochieng during a panel
presentation on countering violent extremism on Monday at the University of Nairobi. “We have intelligence that there are students within this university who are on the payroll of Al-Shabaab. It is very sad,” added Mr Ochieng.
The revelation comes months after a 24 year-old former University of Nairobi Law student led the group of Al-Shabaab militants that massacred 148 people at Garissa University College.

RIOTS? SURVIVAL STRATEGIES

Peaceful demonstrations turning into riots, when comrades put up demands; they are a regular occurrence in campus. Stones flying from the blue and bonfires skilfully set in two minutes flat are both mysterious and terrifying parts of them. There are several techniques you have to know if you want to make it in one piece.

COMRADES POWER
Ensure you are in the midst of comrades, unless you are an activist and prepared to face the consequences. Wear dull colored clothes so that incase you offend someone
you won’t be conspicuous enough to be found. Leaves will help you cover your face and keep mobile to avoid being singled out for a one on one confrontation!

WATER
As teargas is a necessary evil in riots, identifya source of water or carry your own bottle of because that gas is Not happy gas. Water is life, enough said.

NEVER FALL DOWN
Hang onto a fellow comrade until you can stand up again.Once you fall down it won’t be easy to get up as it will be every comrade for himself and SONU chair for us all, with a side dish of broken bones and a topping of blood to match.

DON’T. GET.CAUGHT.
Remember you were not striking until you are caught by the police. They will ever faithfully get you up and going with well-aimed clobbers. It might be that they enjoy the chase. One word, Ruuuuuuuunnnn!!!!

EXIT STRATEGY
In a military operation this is the most important part of a mission. First thing is to know the source of the bullets, teargas and rungus and then you can easily find a way out. Regularly check your exit because things change and youright need to improvise. This is where the men are
separated from the boys.

MONEY
Last but not least have some money in case things go awry and you may need to quickly exit the campus and realize the fare has been doubled.
PS: REMEMBER: A comrade is always right; except when he is wrong.
