Hello, although we have had a pleasant Summer, it is without a doubt that the Fall semester is quickly approaching. Therefore, we are excited to announce that we are looking to hire mentors and tutors to serve 6th-12th grade students throughout Albany.

We are beyond proud of all of our students who participated in our 2022 Summer Institute! We had a great summer exploring STEM related fields, touring Syracuse University, learning the physics behind skydiving, participating in hands on research, building robots, and so much more!

Thank you to Bank of America, NYS Education Department, and the Albany City School District for your assistance in making this program a success! We hope our students have a great and safe last few weeks of summer and we look forward to seeing you all very soon!

What is the end result of an exothermic reaction? At Myers this week it was a sweet treat!

For our Day of Service on Monday our UAlbany STEP tutors/mentors and CSTEP students ran an ice cream making lab in several of Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School Technology and Science classes.

This past Sunday, UAlbany STEP had the amazing opportunity to learn about the Voyager Space Mission through the eyes of Albany native and former NASA Astronaut, Nicole Stott! We had an awesome time learning about what it’s like living on a spacecraft and seeing the planets up close. Then we watched the Schenectady Symphony concert and the world premiere of “Voyager: Journey to the Stars” performance.

Thank you Nicole Stott for being a true American Hero and role model to our students.

Join us this summer for our 2022 STEP Summer Institute. It is a 3-week fun and educational opportunity for students going into the 7th-12th grade. This is a chance for them to explore different careers in STEM, participate in fun science projects, learn about college and higher education, and go on fun field trips. Participants going into 11th and 12th grade have the opportunity to live on campus for 3 weeks and gain college credit by taking an on-campus class. Apply today!!
