Olives Rehabilitation Centre was founded by Mister Were T Stevens in 2001. Mister Stevens is a Pastor in the local community, coordinating and supporting Olives Rehabilitation Centre, Olives Church and Olives Community Centre (education for adult learners). Olives Rehabilitation Centre began as a day care centre giving children from Bombolulu slum and surrounding areas nutritious meals and daily s
tory reading. Day by day word spread about the care Mister Stevens was providing for the children. As the number of children attending grew, Mister Stevens began incorporating education with the aim to enhance literacy levels. Olives Rehabilitation Centre began teaching 60 students of various ages and abilities. From there the school grew, bringing more students and employing more teachers from the surrounding community. Today, Olives Rehabilitation Centre teaches good quality education to over 400 students from Kindergarten to Standard 8. Teaching is conducted in conjunction with the Kenyan Curriculum and offers all students the opportunity to sit the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams upon completing Standard 8. Objectives : To provide life changing outcomes through education.

• To have all students pass their KCPE exam and move on to secondary school or proceed to skills training.
• To develop a Rescue Centre for underprivileged and mistreated children.
• To develop a Health Care Facility to provide essential care for the children and community.
• To improve adult literacy levels in the community.
