The Ahinsa Lecture and Dialogue 2026 is underway at Chandaria Auditorium, bringing together scholars, policymakers, diplomats and peacebuilding practitioners for a timely conversation on “Education for Peace in a Time of Polycrisis: Building Resilient, Inclusive and Peaceful Societies.”
Co-hosted by Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development UNESCO MGIEP and the University of Nairobi’s Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies (WMI). The Dialogue explores how education can advance peace, inclusion and resilience in the face of conflict, climate change, inequality and other interconnected challenges.

The University of Nairobi at the Nairobi International Trade Fair has been recognized as the best stand in Research and Development under the Education category and the 3rd best University stand. The University is showcasing 30 innovations from the different faculties led by our student innovators in line with the show's theme, 'Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth'

The CS Education, Julius Ogamba, speaking during the congratulated the graduands and urged them to be innovators, entrepreneurs and not necessarily job seekers.
'We are strengthening the transition from education to employment and entrepreneurship. We are investing in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training, and advancing competency-based approaches to learning.
We are also working to strengthen research, innovation and technology within our universities because we recognise that the university of the 21st Century must be much more than a teaching institution.'

He assured the first years and parents that the Government will address the issue of funding. He also assured University staff on the issue of CBA.

Hon. Ogamba urged universities to keep preparing for CBET.
