Today, Tangaza University hosted the launch of St. Augustine’s Journey within the Church: From a Lost Son to a Father to Many, authored by Monsignor Luciano Labanca, Chargé d'Affaires of the Apostolic Nunciature in Kenya.
Organised by Paulines Publications Africa, the book launch brought together leaders from the Church, academia, and the diplomatic community for a conversation on the life, struggles, and transformation of St. Augustine.

The event was attended by:
• Most Rev. Philip Anyolo, Archbishop of Nairobi
• Monsignor Luciano Labanca, Author and Chargé d'Affaires of the Apostolic Nunciature
• Rev. Prof. Patrick Mwania, Vice-Chancellor of Tangaza University
• Rev. Dr. Silvano Ochuodho, Pro-Chancellor of Strathmore University
• His Excellency Roberto Natali, Italian Ambassador to Kenya
• Members of the diplomatic corps, faculty, students, and clergy

The discussion reflected on St. Augustine’s journey, his doubts, human struggles, search for meaning, and eventual encounter with God’s mercy. His story continues to speak to anyone seeking faith, direction, and a deeper sense of purpose.

The Safeguarding Initiative for Catholic Sisters (SICS), Tangaza University Conducted an on-site Safeguarding Workshop for the 53 Novice Directors under the umbrella of Association of Religious in Uganda (ARU) at its headquarters in Kampala Uganda.

Besides the broad formation on Safeguarding as a ministry in the Church, forms of abuse and ways of addressing concerns, the workshop provided an orientation on SICs E-learning Course for the Novices. The Novice Directors were provided with knowledge and practical skills to support safe and protective formation environments.

It was also an opportunity for reflection, learning and strengthening the commitment to safeguarding within religious formation.

Last week, Tangaza University hosted the Uniservitate 2026 Award Celebration, an event that brought attention to the work being done through service learning, community engagement and education.

The celebration recognized individuals and initiatives that are connecting what happens in the classroom with real needs in the community.

It was also an opportunity to reflect on the role of universities in serving society and creating opportunities for students to learn through direct engagement with communities.

This Sunday, we are invited to reflect on what it truly means to say “yes” to God. The readings remind us that faith is not only about what we say, but also about how we live and the choices we make each day.

Through the parable of the two sons, Jesus challenges us to move from words to action and to put God’s will into practice. We are also reminded that it is never too late to change, make things right and choose a better path.

May our “yes” to God be seen in the way we live, serve and care for others.
