Aviation College The East African School of Aviation is a premier aviation training institution in Africa.

It is a Division and the training institution of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA). Established in 1954, the East African School of Aviation is the oldest aviation training institute in East Africa and was first situated at the then Eastleigh Airport Nairobi now Moi Air Base (a military airport). It then moved to the Wilson Airport Nairobi under the auspices of the East African Community where it remained until the collapse of the first EAC in 1977 and moved in 1985 through funding by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to its current 87-acre premises at Embakasi near the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). In July 1963 the operations of EASA was entrusted to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Training Mission and the name changed to East African Common Services Organization (EACSO) School.Â It later changed its name to the East African School of Aviation and was run by the Directorate of Civil Aviation. EASA was charged with offering training for the then Directorate of Civil Aviation (DCA) personnel in Air Traffic Control, Aeronautical Engineering and Telecommunications, and Aviation Security (AVSEC) for the Aerodromes Department (now the Kenya Airports Authority) of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The establishment of KCAA as a state corporation in 2002 accorded EASA the opportunity to execute its mandate as an aviation training institution more professionally, in line with world best practices. The School is now directing its efforts towards meeting the current and potential aviation training needs of its local and global clients. The school has endeavoured to structure its products based on the market needs in the dynamic aviation industry.

The 𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗔 𝗔𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 brings together students, staff and aviation industry partners for a season of 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲 through weekend football.

With seven registered teams representing different parts of the aviation community, the league promises exciting match-ups, teamwork and memorable moments on and off the pitch.

The programme was delivered through a strategic collaboration between EASA/KCAA and EAMAC, bringing together Air Traffic Controllers from across Africa.

The 9th cohort comprised participants from 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹, 𝗥𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮, 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿, 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻, 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗼𝘀, 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮, 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗶, 𝗖ô𝘁𝗲 𝗱'𝗜𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗿𝗲, 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗮, 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿, 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰, 𝗚𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗻, 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗱, 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝗼, 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗼, 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗻, 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼-𝗕𝗿𝗮𝘇𝘇𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗮-𝗕𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮𝘂.

The AVEL programme strengthened Aviation English language proficiency among Air Traffic Controllers, enhancing effective communication, listening and speaking skills, phraseology, and operational communication in support of safe and efficient air traffic management.

The programme brought together aviation security professionals from 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮, 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝗯 𝗘𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 (𝗨𝗔𝗘), 𝗥𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮, 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝘇𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮, creating a valuable platform for international collaboration, experience sharing, and professional development in aviation security management.

The course featured a 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆, 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆, 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮, bringing diverse international expertise and perspectives to the training.

The 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝗢𝗺𝗮𝗴𝘄𝗮, representing the 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗿, 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 (𝗥𝗔𝗦) at the East African School of Aviation (EASA), graced the closing ceremony of the 𝗢𝗻-𝘁𝗵𝗲-𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 (𝗢𝗝𝗧𝗜) 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲.

𝗣𝗖𝗘𝗔 𝗞𝗜𝗞𝗨𝗬𝗨 𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗔𝗖𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗖 𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗔

The 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗔) hosted students from 𝗣𝗖𝗘𝗔 𝗞𝗶𝗸𝘂𝘆𝘂 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 for an academic visit aimed at exposing them to aviation training, career opportunities, and the practical aspects of the aviation industry.

The students were received by the 𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗔 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 and taken through an overview of EASA, its academic and professional training programmes, and its role in developing skilled aviation professionals.

The visit provided an opportunity for the students to interact with aviation professionals and instructors, including 𝗠𝗿. 𝗟𝘂𝗰𝗮 𝗕𝗼𝗰𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗼, 𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗢 𝗔𝗩𝗦𝗘𝗖 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, who engaged them on 𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, while encouraging them to explore the diverse career opportunities available within the aviation industry.

The students also explored areas aligned with their academic interests, including their 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝟭𝟬 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁.

As part of the practical learning experience, the students toured the 𝗠𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽, 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗹𝘂𝗶𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, where EASA instructors 𝗠𝗿. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗞𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘆𝗼, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗞𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗿. 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝘆𝗶 introduced them to fundamental concepts and practical applications related to the respective training areas.

𝗠𝗿. 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹 𝗡𝗴𝗶𝗴𝗶 engaged the students on the fundamentals of 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹, while 𝗘𝗻𝗴. 𝗘𝗱𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲 introduced them to the fundamentals of 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲.

The students also had an opportunity to interact with 𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗔 𝗔𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, who shared their experiences and provided insights into their learning journey at EASA.

The academic visit provided the students with valuable exposure to aviation education, technical training, and career pathways, helping them connect classroom learning with real-world applications in the aviation industry.

The 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗔𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗗𝗗𝗔𝗧), 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝘂𝘀 𝗡𝘇𝘆𝗼𝗸𝗮, at the East African School of Aviation (EASA), graced the opening of the 𝗔𝗡𝗦/𝗔𝗧𝗠 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲.

The programme brings together aviation professionals from 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗔𝗔, 𝗭𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗯𝘄𝗲 𝗖𝗔𝗔, 𝗘𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗖, 𝗔𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗖–𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗱, 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗡𝗔, 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗔𝗔, 𝗖ô𝘁𝗲 𝗱’𝗜𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗔𝗔, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮 𝗖𝗔𝗔, providing a valuable platform for regional and international experience sharing and professional development.

The 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗔𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗗𝗗𝗔𝗧), 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝘂𝘀 𝗡𝘇𝘆𝗼𝗸𝗮, at the East African School of Aviation (EASA), graced the opening of the 𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗢 𝗔𝗩𝗦𝗘𝗖 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲.

The programme brings together aviation security professionals from 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮, 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝗯 𝗘𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 (𝗨𝗔𝗘), 𝗥𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮, 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝘇𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮, creating a valuable platform for international collaboration, experience sharing, and professional development in aviation security management.

The course features a 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆, 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆, 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮, bringing diverse international expertise and perspectives to the training.
