31/08/2015

Hello and welcome to the first semester of academic year 2015/2016. I believe you had a great holiday and you have come back equipped with new resolutions. Kindly note the important dates of the semester including deadline for fee payment and unit registration. As I informed you earlier, we have a new Director in campus, I believe you will be able to interact with him in the course of the semester. You can now access Comcraft Building without using the entrance, we've constructed a connection between the two buildings. I urge you to contribute to positive changes within and out of campus premises. Again I say welcome back.
Regards,
David Kibet
Chairperson KUSA.

KENYATTA UNIVERSITY STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION
OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT
INTERNAL MEMO
Dated: 28th August, 2014
FROM: President
TO: All Students
RE: GENERAL COMMUNICATION
I thank God as we come to the end of our vacation. I trust that you have had a fruitful period. As the semester starts, I would like to share the following information.
HELB: We have continued to follow up with the Board and I would like to confirm that some names of those who qualified were released on Wednesday, 27th, August Evening. We have scheduled another meeting today with the board with a view of hastening the completion of the process. I will give further direction on this matter tomorrow.
In the meantime, we yesterday agreed with the management that all those who have been given rooms in school will be able to access those rooms from Monday without payment to such a period when we have ensured HELB funds have been availed. The Accommodation Directorate will therefore be duly advised.
LINKAGE OF UNIVERSITY FINANCIAL SYTEM WITH BANKS: For the last six months we have engaged the universities with a view of having them link our financial system with the banks to avoid the long queues at the start of the semester.
However, due to the fact that we use four different banks, the process will not go live at the start of the semester. However, we yesterday obtained proof for completion of User Acceptance Tests and a commitment that the process will be live by start of November. This will also be accompanied by other progress like commissioning of MPESA pay bill number to ensure you can pay your fees comfortably.
We have however undertaken measures to ensure that; there will be more staff at registration desks and I have requested KUSA officials to be around to ensure that we do not experience the endless queues.
USE OF STUDENT EMAILS: At the start of the year, I requested us to register and start using student email; for example [email protected]. We will provide information on how to create those emails on our various platforms.
The intention is to have information including lecture notes, fee statements and general communication send to you. All students have been created on email. It’s just you to activate it.
Reporting Dates remain 1st, 2nd and 3rd September. Kindly let us know each concern that we should address as the semester starts. Thank you for continually engaging us.
Regards
Lone Felix

Guys we do have a situation here that needs you input. The only free night in the calender for the event is on Teusday next since all the exams end at 9;00pm on Friday and Monday.

Now we need your input to know if you will be coming so that we finalize on the arrangements we had initially started. No sugar coating please, it is either you will be attending or not.

Your take please

SECURITY!!
A student was denied access into KU environs at the gate. Reason, he had nothing to identify him as a KU student. He was told to produce anything to prove that he was a bonafide student. He reached for his pocket and produced out . He was then allowed into the campus!

'Thank you very much for your visit to our Hospital.' This is the message from the Corporate Affairs Department of Kenyatta National Hospital.

The CSR was a MAJOR sucess ever witnessed. The entire team was very cooperative. All the 62 participants arrived in good time, collaborated with each other well, had fun and above all someone sick at the hospital bed had a reason to smile.

The first of its kind and a milestone for the campus. From KUSA City Campus officials we say a big thank you to Red Cross City Campus Chapter for doing a very good job in mobilizing students.
The administration for providing neccesart logistical help. The City Campus community for supporting the initiative from the start till the end. The Kenyatta National Hospital for hosting us and God for enabling such initiative to be a major success.
