Endless Opportunities at the University of Nairobi 🌍🎓

At the University of Nairobi, the classroom is only one part of the journey. Samuel Ochor, a First Class Honours graduate in Electrical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, has experienced first-hand how academic excellence and international exposure can open doors.
Samuel has secured a fully funded Master’s scholarship in France, where he will pursue a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, International Track in Électronique, Énergie Électrique, Automatique (EEEA) at Université Paris-Saclay.
His journey to this opportunity began while he was still an undergraduate at UoN. Through an academic exchange programme, Samuel spent five months at CentraleSupélec in France, undertaking a research exchange semester. Working in a different academic environment gave him the opportunity to experience new approaches to engineering research, collaborate across cultures, and see how ideas developed in the classroom can translate into practical research.
That experience also helped him appreciate the value of stepping outside familiar academic surroundings. For Samuel, the exchange was more than a chance to study abroad, it became a foundation for his next academic step.
His latest achievement reflects what can happen when hard work, academic excellence and access to international opportunities come together.
From the University of Nairobi to France, Samuel’s journey is a reminder that the opportunities you encounter as a student can shape where you go next.
At UoN, your journey can take you places. 🌍🎓✈️
