MEET OUR PARTNERS | Growing Wangari Maathai’s Legacy

Wangari Maathai showed us that lasting change begins when people come together around a shared responsibility to care for the Earth.

Today, LANSRET (Landscape Repair and Transformation)carries that spirit forward through partnerships that turn commitment into action.

From Pionnee Insurance helping transform the 9km SEKU landscape, to Platinum Credit supporting the Platinum Forest, VIVA 365 Insurance Brokers adopting a restoration site at the Wangari Maathai Institute and Kanisa SACCO supporting landscape restoration at Kenyatta University, our partners are helping turn Wangari’s vision into living landscapes.

This is how a legacy grows: one partnership, one landscape, one generation at a time.

Want to make your organisation part of this legacy?

What kind of are we leaving behind?"

Prof. Wangari Maathai taught us that environmental restoration begins with ordinary people taking extraordinary responsibility.

LANSRET ( Landscape Repair and Transformation Program) carries that vision forward;repairing landscapes through science, partnership and community stewardship.

Adopt a Site

Every landscape has a future.

It just needs someone willing to adopt it.

From the Wangari Maathai Institute's meditation area to restoration sites across Kenya, LANSRET's "Adopt a Site" model invites organizations to take responsibility for degraded landscapes over the long term

Tree planting ends in a day. Landscape restoration lasts generations.

't measure success by how many trees go into the ground.

We measure success by how many survive.

Because every thriving tree restores biodiversity, protects water, captures carbon and strengthens communities.

That is the Wangari Maathai way.

🌧️ The rains are coming. So is one of Kenya's greatest opportunities to restore our landscapes.

The best time to grow a tree isn't after the rains have passed. It's now.

Across Kenya, the coming rainy season presents a rare opportunity to restore degraded landscapes, replenish water catchments, enhance biodiversity, and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

At LANSRET (Landscape Repair and Transformation) we don't simply plant trees we restore .

Inspired by the enduring legacy of Professor Wangari Maathai , we work alongside communities, institutions and corporate partners to transform degraded spaces into thriving ecosystems through science, stewardship and long-term care.

Over the years, together with our partners, we have:
Restored degraded landscapes.
Established green spaces that continue to thrive.
Engaged communities and students in environmental stewardship.
Advanced biodiversity conservation.
Demonstrated that meaningful restoration requires commitment beyond planting day.

Now, as the rains approach, we are launching an ambitious restoration campaign and we are looking for organizations ready to make a lasting difference.

Whether your organization is strengthening its ESG commitments, delivering impactful CSR initiatives, or investing in climate resilience, LANSRET offers an opportunity to create measurable environmental and social impact.

A partnership with LANSRET is more than sponsoring a tree planting event. It is an investment in healthier ecosystems, stronger communities and a greener Kenya.

As Professor Wangari Maathai reminded us:

It's the little things citizens do. That's what will make the difference. My little thing is planting trees."

This rainy season, let's do those little things together at a scale that transforms landscapes and inspires generations.

We invite corporates, institutions, development partners and individuals to join us in growing Kenya's green legacy.

Partner with LANSRET. Restore a landscape. Grow a legacy.

relaunched Phase One of its Green Corridor Initiative; The 9km Green Avenue Funded by Pioneer Insurance in partnership with Wangari Maathai Institute and Hearts of green organization under the Landscape Repair and Transformation Program (LANSRET).

Mr. Timothy Mutua the General Manager Marketing at Pioneer Insurance shared their commitment to transforming the nine-kilometre corridor into a vibrant green avenue featuring indigenous trees, neem trees, hedges and fruit orchards, to benefit all.

Representing the VC, SEKU, Prof. Maithya challenged the university community to champion environmental conservation both on campus and in their homes.

The partners and the community planted and watered the new seedlings, symbolizing their shared commitment to building greener, healthier and more resilient landscapes for future generations.
