Ancestral Strongholds: Fortified coastal forest sites established by the Mijikenda people in the 16th century.
UNESCO World Heritage: 11 sites protected globally for their cultural and ecological value.
Forest Guardians: Spiritual traditions have shielded these rare old-growth forests for centuries.
Guided by Elders: Strictly governed by Kambi (councils of elders) who safeguard sacred wisdom.
