💧🌱 SEASON OF CREATION CLOSURE: RESTORATION OF THE RIPARIAN LAND
Make Living Water Flow
“Every act of care for creation becomes part of a global stream of hope.”
As part of the Season of Creation, Tangaza University, through the Institute for Social Transformation (IST) and the Tangaza University Laudato Si’ initiative, brought the season to a close with a practical action for our common home at the Laudato Si’ Kisaju Farm.
The Season of Creation Closure: Restoration of the Riparian Land brought together the Tangaza University Laudato Si’ family, friends and collaborators for a day of learning, reflection and action.
🌿 We planted bamboo and indigenous trees to restore and protect the riparian ecosystem, conserve biodiversity and contribute to groundwater recharge.
💧 Our facilitator, James Kagwe, challenged us to rethink water stewardship—from harvesting rainwater and restoring riparian land to recharging water systems and planting trees that provide value even while they grow.
🌳 With approximately 25 varieties of trees, Kisaju is becoming more than a farm. It is a living classroom where education, ecology and community action meet.
This is what Make Living Water Flow calls us to do: transform concern into action and ensure that every act of care contributes to a wider stream of hope.
For Tangaza University, education is not simply about acquiring knowledge. It is also about responding to the challenges around us, nurturing responsible citizens and becoming part of the solution.
The Season of Creation may have ended, but the work of caring for our common home continues.
We are truly grateful for the support of the Laudato Si’ Movement African Office and Kenya Chapter, particularly Blantina, our great Laudato Si’ champion, who joined us and spent the day with us at Kisaju.
