This is the official page of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), a State Corporation established under the Universities Act, 2012. It is established under the Universities Act of 2012 to coordinate the placement of government-sponsored students to various programmes in universities and colleges. Our role is also to disseminate information on available p

rogrammes, their costs and the areas of study prioritised by the government; and to develop career guidance programmes for the benefit of students. This way, we aim to maximise the number of students enrolling in tertiary institutions under government sponsorship. Additionally, we collect and retain data relating to university and college placement, and advise the government on matters relating to university and college student placement.

KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome has urged journalists to uphold ethical and fair reporting and to tell life stories that impact citizens positively. Speaking today at the end of a media sensitisation workshop organised in partnership with the Media Council of Kenya, Dr. Wahome said KUCCPS would work with the Media Council to support journalists to develop stories that highlight the positive impact of KUCCPS services and other government programmes.

KUCCPS has collaborated with the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) to organise a two-day media sensitisation workshop focusing on placement of students to universities and colleges, and government funding to students. The workshop started today with presentations from Universities Fund Ag. CEO Dr. Edwin Wanyonyi and Higher Education Loans Board CEO Geoffrey Monari, who explained government loans and scholarships. The purpose of the sensitisation is to promote informed, accurate, consistent and impactful reporting on tertiary education placement and funding matters.

KUCCPS participated in a community sensitisation activity in Kilifi County hosted by Kenya Utalii College and the Office of the MP for Kilifi South Constituency on 12th August 2026. The sensitisation was part of mobilisation efforts for the first intake of students at Ronald Ngala Utalii College. We encouraged prospective students to apply for the intake through the KUCCPS Student's Portal before 23rd August 2026.
