Our proposed LLM in Judicial Science offers nine modules. One of the modules is the 'African Feminist Judgments Project.'

We piloted the Module this past week at the British Institute in Eastern Africa & our Law School.

It was attended by a diverse class of 25 men & women from 6 African Countries.

Additionally, it was facilitated by judges, including a sitting judge of the Supreme Court of Kenya, and distinguished academics.

We thank the judges, magistrates, researchers and practitioners who joined us.

We are delighted with the feedback we received on our innovative, multimedia teaching methods.

Participants told us the module content fundamentally changed their understanding of feminist judging. We look forward to learning how their practice changes as a result of the Module.

We are delighted to welcome Professor Ambreena Manji to the Kabarak University School of Law following her appointment as Adjunct Full Professor of Public Law.

Professor Manji is an internationally distinguished legal scholar and academic leader whose scholarship spans African legal studies, governance, land law, law and development, socio-legal studies, feminist jurisprudence and Global South legal scholarship. She is currently Professor of Land Law and Development at Cardiff Law School and formerly served as Dean for Africa at Cardiff University and Director of the British Institute in Eastern Africa.

Professor Manji is already a valued intellectual partner of Kabarak University. She has played a central role in the collaboration between Kabarak University, Cardiff University, the Kenya Judiciary Academy and Katiba Institute that supported the development of our Master’s Programme in Judicial Science.

Her appointment significantly strengthens our postgraduate faculty and our growing network of leading African and international scholars. She will contribute to postgraduate teaching, supervision and examination, faculty mentorship, collaborative research, curriculum development and international academic partnerships.

As we continue building Kabarak University School of Law as a leading African centre for legal scholarship, judicial education and Global South intellectual engagement, we are immensely pleased to have Professor Manji journey with us.

Esther Mwangangi and Khakasa Favor advanced to the Quarterfinals, with Khakasa Favor earning the Best Female Oralist award🎉🎉.
Narah Yegoh and Lenny Wambua also impressed, progressing to the Semifinals.

We proudly celebrate our very own Austin Okinyi, Emmanuel Kalama and Abigael Tabrandy for their outstanding debut at the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition 2026.
The team delivered an impressive performance, advancing to the Semi-Finals and securing 2nd place on merit nationally. We also celebrate Emmanuel Kalama for being named Best Male Oralist🎉 of the competition.
We are equally grateful to the coach, Levy Masinde whose guidance made this achievement possible.

We proudly celebrate the outstanding performance of our students at the 14th Edition of the The All Kenyan Moot Court Competition (AKMCC). ⚖️🏛️
Ezra Makori and Joyce Wambui advanced to the Quarter-Finals, earning Best Applicant Memorial and Best Overall Memorials. 👏
Mercy Cheruiyot and Somane Abdijabir reached the Semi-Finals, securing an impressive third-place overall finish. 🥉

Kabarak Law School is honoured to be represented by a distinguished delegation at the solemn Opening of the Judicial Year and the celebration of the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights at 20.

Our delegation comprises of Elvis Mogesa, the Immediate Former Editor-in-Chief, Kabarak Law Review; James Mulei, Current Editor-in-Chief, KLR; Mr Kelly Malenya, Head of Department, Kabarak Clacle, and Ms Chepkorir Sambu, Centre for Multiple Justice Systems.

We are especially proud to mark a significant milestone in our partnership with the African Court through the curation of joint scholarly publications. The forthcoming volume of the Kabarak Law Review features manuscripts reflecting on 20 years of the AU Constitutive Act, with a foreword graciously authored by Rtd Judge Ben Kioko of the African Court. ✨
