A weekend of strength, skill and sporting spirit! Kaimosi Friends University teams competed at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) in taekwondo, tennis, table tennis and tug of war.

Leading the charge were our menโ€™s tug of war, menโ€™s tennis and womenโ€™s table tennis teams, who each clinched third place!

Kaimosi Friends University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mwita, alongside the Chairman of Council, Prof. Stanley Khainga, joined the Prime Cabinet Secretary, H.E. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, at the United Society of Friends Women (USFW) Kenya Prayer Day held at Kaimosi National Polytechnic, Vihiga County.

The solemn gathering brought together thousands of women from across the Friends Church for a day of prayer, reflection and intercession for the Church, society and the nation.

As an institution sponsored by the Friends Church of Kenya (Quakers), Kaimosi Friends University remains deeply rooted in the Churchโ€™s enduring values of peace, integrity, service, community and spiritual growth. The University management led by the Vice Chancellor continues to uphold this heritage by fostering holistic education, nurturing responsible graduates and contributing to the moral and social development of society.

Kaimosi Friends University today hosted a special Holy Rosary celebration presided over by Bishop Joseph Obanyi Sagwe, bringing together Catholic students, clergy and the wider university community from across Western Kenya in a shared expression of faith, unity and spiritual reflection.

Bishop Obanyi was accompanied by priests from across the region, including Fr. Boniface Kibaki, Fr. Chrispin Wabukala, Fr. Kizito Muchana, Fr. Elijah Namwaya among others.

The gathering brought together students from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, Sigalagala National Polytechnic, Kaimosi Friends National Polytechnic and Kaimosi Friends University.

In his sermon, Bishop Joseph Obanyi encouraged students to remain focused on their studies, work diligently and pursue academic excellence. He urged them to put God first in all they do, noting the importance of faith and spiritual values in shaping their lives and future.

The Bishop also commended University Management for its commitment to environmental conservation. In recognition of Mazingira Day, he called on everyone to take personal responsibility for protecting the environment by planting at least one or two trees.

The celebration highlighted the value of nurturing academic achievement, spiritual growth and environmental stewardship together. It concluded with a renewed call for students and the wider community to uphold their faith, pursue their goals with dedication and contribute to a more sustainable future.
