Congratulations to the ELBML-ELBBL team on advancing to the Hong Kong Preliminary Rounds of the 2026 UPICC International Arbitration Moot!
The UPICC Moot, organized by the UNIDROIT Asian Transnational Law Centre under the UNIDROIT Academy together with the Beijing Arbitration Commission/Beijing International Arbitration Court, challenges students to apply the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts to a complex international commercial arbitration problem.
Teams were first required to prepare and submit written memorials. The Moot Organizing Committee then considered memorial scores, diversity, and other relevant factors in selecting teams to advance to the oral rounds. RULEβs team has now been selected as one of 24 teams progressing to the Hong Kong Preliminary Rounds, which will take place from 4 to 6 November 2026.
This is a significant achievement, particularly as this is RULEβs first participation in the competition. It reflects not only the substantial effort our students have invested in legal research, written advocacy, argument development, and teamwork, but also ELBML and ELBBLβs continued commitment to practice-oriented legal education, advocacy training, and meaningful international learning opportunities.
We warmly congratulate the team and wish them every success as they prepare for the oral rounds in Hong Kong. The top four teams will progress to the semi-final and final rounds at UNIDROIT headquarters in Rome in January 2027.
Admissions to the 2026-2027 ELBML intake are still open. If you are looking for an English-taught LL.M. that combines academic rigor, practical legal training, and opportunities such as international moot competitions, professional development, and international exposure, we warmly invite you to explore ELBML and join our new intake.
