Quantitative Research Methods in International Relations equips students with the tools to turn research questions into evidence-based findings. From research design, sampling, measurement, and data collection to hypothesis testing, statistical analysis, and regression, students learn the essentials of quantitative research from the ground up.

Through hands-on practice using Stata, students develop practical skills to analyze data and produce a comprehensive quantitative research proposal. More than numbers, the course encourages critical thinking, academic writing, teamwork, and the confidence to question assumptions, test arguments, and let evidence speak.

[MSc-IA Certificate Course]

This course trains policy analysts to replace gut-feeling with numerical evidence. We will work through projects in governance, public health, economics, and social policy, to develop fluency in the full data analytics pipeline — crafting questions, data processing, exploratory analysis, modeling, interpretation, and communication. All tools, concepts, and theories are introduced as solutions to concrete problems we encounter while solving problems.

We aim to help students recognize when a problem is amenable to statistics, develop computational problem-solving skill, be critical of such results, and communicate evidence in pictures.

[Master of Science in International Affairs, MSc-IA]

The IISPP would like to inform all applicants that the English Proficiency Test will be conducted as part of the selection process for the upcoming academic program.

Please note the following details:
- Date: Saturday, 15 August 2026
- Time: 8:30 AM-10:00 AM
- Venue: Room D08, RUPP

All candidates are required to take this test unless they meet one of the following exemptions:
- You have already submitted a valid IELTS or TOEFL score as part of your application; or
- You are an IISPP alumnus or alumna.

This test is designed to assess your English language proficiency to ensure you are well-prepared for the academic rigors of the program.

Please arrive at the exam room at least 15 minutes early and bring a valid form of identification. Late arrivals may not be permitted to sit for the test.

Should you have any questions or require clarification, feel free to contact the IISPP admin office during office hours.
