π International Summer Programme: Collaborative Solutions for Environmental Challenges π
From August 3 to 11, the Department of Computer Science of Paragon International University hosted an international summer programme, bringing together students from Paragon International University, SRH University (Germany), and the University of Central Asia (Kyrgyzstan) to explore and address pressing environmental challenges.
Through collaborative discussions, field-based learning, and interdisciplinary teamwork, the students examined the underlying causes of environmental issues, including urban flooding, extreme heat, and waste management. Drawing on diverse academic and cultural perspectives, they worked together to develop feasible and sustainable solutions aimed at creating a meaningful and lasting impact in Phnom Penh.
Beyond the academic activities, the students had the opportunity to experience Cambodiaβs rich cultural heritage, local food culture, and renowned destinations, including Angkor Wat. Their learning also extended beyond the classroom through visits to Cambodiaβs unique wetland environments, including Amarak Farm in Phnom Penh and Kampong Phluk Floating Village in Siem Reap. These experiences provided valuable insights into the relationship between communities, ecosystems, and environmental sustainability.
The programme concluded with student project presentations focusing on identifying the underlying causes of flooding and proposing feasible and sustainable approaches to flood mitigation.
Paragon International University and the Department of Computer Science look forward to continuing this international collaboration and developing future joint initiatives that bring together students, educators, and communities to address environmental challenges through innovation, technology, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
