The Student Government of the American University of Phnom Penh was established to ensure that students have a legitimate voice in AUPP's affairs. SGA provides students with an opportunity to influence both their academic and social experience. SGA is comprised of a seven member executive commission and a fifteen member elected council (with three councillors from each year, including the English
Preparatory Program). The Student Government of the American University of Phnom Penh works on policy initiatives, providing services for students on and off campus, and event planning. Projects can range from recommendations to improve campus health and safety to proposals to strengthen academic practices. The SGAUPP also surveys student opinion on major issues, such as grading policy changes, to ensure that the administration listens to the student body’s wishes. The SGA’s most important mission is to represent and advocate for the student body, so please get involved! Run for office, submit ideas, or just talk to your representative.
