We are , the 2026 School of Computing Executive Committee.

Recently, there has been some confusion among School of Computing students regarding the establishment of the Department of AI Computing. To clarify the situation, the SoC student council presidency met directly with the Head of the School of Computing to confirm the relevant details. We have summarized below the information that we believe students may be most curious about.

🔎 Information on AI-Related Courses

Some existing School of Computing courses will be offered as shared courses with the Department of AI Computing. This does not mean that existing School of Computing courses will be discontinued or transferred to the College of AI Computing.

In the Fall 2026 semester, School of Computing courses including System Programming, Introduction to Human-Computer Interaction, Introduction to Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Introduction to Reinforcement Learning, Multi-Agent Engineering for Social Computing, and Machine Learning for Natural Language Processing are expected to be offered as shared courses.

Conversely, some courses offered by the Department of AI Computing will also be shared with the School of Computing, expanding the range of AI-related courses available to School of Computing students. In the Fall 2026 semester, Introduction to Generative Models, offered by the Department of AI Computing, is expected to be available as a shared course. AI-related courses newly introduced in the future are also expected to be shared between the two departments.

2026 전산학부 집행위원회 입니다.

최근 AI컴퓨팅학과 신설과 관련하여 전산학부 학생들 사이에 여러 혼선이 발생하고 있습니다.
이에 전산학부 학생회장단이 전산학부 학부장님과 직접 면담을 진행하여 관련 내용을 확인하였으며, 학우 여러분께서 궁금해하실 만한 사항을 정리하여 안내드립니다.

🔎 인공지능 과목 관련 안내
기존 전산학부 과목 중 일부는 AI컴퓨팅학과와 공유 과목으로 개설될 예정입니다. 이 과정에서 기존 전산학부 과목이 사라지거나 AI컴퓨팅대학으로 이관되는 것은 아닙니다.
2026년 가을학기에는 시스템프로그래밍, 인간-컴퓨터 상호작용 개론, 컴퓨터 비전 개론, 기계학습, 강화학습 개론, 소셜 컴퓨팅을 위한 멀티 에이전트 공학, 자연언어처리를 위한 기계학습 등의 전산학부 과목이 공유 과목으로 개설될 예정입니다.
반대로 AI컴퓨팅학과에서 개설되는 과목 중 일부 역시 전산학부와 공유되어, 전산학부 학생들이 수강할 수 있는 AI 관련 과목의 선택지는 확대될 전망입니다. 2026년 가을학기에는 AI컴퓨팅학과 과목 중 「생성모델 개론」이 공유 과목으로 개설될 예정이며, 향후 개설되는 인공지능 관련 과목들도 상호 공유할 예정입니다.

🎓 대학원 T/O 관련 안내
일부 전산학부 교수님께서 AI컴퓨팅학과로 소속을 옮김에 따라 전산학부 소속 교수 인원은 5명 감소하였습니다.
다만 향후 5년간은 AI컴퓨팅학과로 이동한 교수 5명을 전산학부 대학원 T/O 산정에서 제외하지 않기로 협의하였습니다. 따라서 이 기간 동안 기존 전산학부 대학원 T/O는 기존과 동일한 기준으로 산정됩니다.
또한 AI컴퓨팅학과에는 전산학부 T/O와 별도의 추가 대학원 T/O가 배정되며, AI컴퓨팅학과 겸임 교수님들은 기존 전산학부 T/O와 해당 학과에 추가된 T/O를 일정 부분 함께 활용하게 됩니다.
따라서 향후 5년간 기존 전산학부의 대학원 T/O가 이번 학과 신설로 인해 감소하지는 않을 예정입니다.

전산학부 집행위원회 는 앞으로도 학우 여러분의 학사생활에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 사안에 대해 학교 및 학부와 지속적으로 소통하고, 확인된 내용을 신속하고 정확하게 전달드리겠습니다.
