Mason Korea is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Jason M. Kinser as Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs, effective July 27, 2026.
 
Dr. Kinser joins us from George Mason University’s Fairfax campus, where he currently serves as Interim Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the George Mason University College of Science College of Science at George Mason. A longtime George Mason faculty member and academic administrator, he brings nearly three decades of experience in research, teaching, and academic affairs. His work in computational and data sciences, along with a strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, has helped advance innovation across the university.
 
As Mason Korea continues to expand opportunities in data science, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and other emerging fields, Dr. Kinser‘s expertise will help strengthen connections among education, research, and industry while creating new opportunities for students.
 
We are excited to welcome Dr. Kinser to Mason Korea and look forward to the contributions he will make to our academic community.
 
메이슨코리아는 2026년 7월 27일부로 Jason M. Kinser 박사를 교무처장으로 임명하게 되었습니다.
 
Kinser 박사는 현재 미국 페어팩스 캠퍼스 College of Science의 임시 교무처장으로 재직 중이며, 연구·교육·학사 운영 분야에서 약 30년의 경험을 쌓아왔습니다.
 
데이터 사이언스, 인공지능, 바이오테크놀로지 등 미래 유망 분야를 중심으로 성장하고 있는 메이슨코리아에서, Kinser 박사는 교육·연구·산업 간 협력을 더욱 강화하고 학생들에게 새로운 기회를 제공하는 데 기여할 것으로 기대됩니다.

This Saturday, Mason Korea will host the 38th Annual Conference of the Korean Society for Popular Music Studies under the theme “Incheon, Traversing Korean Popular Music,” co-hosted by Mason Korea’s Center for Korean Culture and Society (CKCS). The conference will feature discussions on local music ecosystems, Korean popular music history, and the future of music in the age of generative AI.

*Please note that the conference will be conducted in Korean.

한국조지메이슨대학교가 이번 토요일 ‘인천, 한국 대중음악을 관통하다’를 주제로 제38회 한국대중음악학회 정기학술대회를 개최합니다. 이번 학술대회에서는 인천 지역 음악 생태계와 한국 대중음악의 역사, 생성형 AI 시대 음악 산업의 미래에 대한 다양한 논의가 진행될 예정입니다.

🎉 Congratulations to Mason Korea Conflict Analysis & Resolution (CAR) undergrads Yoochan Kong, Shin Mo, Suyoung (Sarina) Oh, Hayoung Hwang (CAR minor), Hyunwoo Jo (GLOA major), and Yoonbeen Cho on their recent publication in the International Council on Korean Studies (ICKS)!

Last year, these students presented their research at the International Peace and Security Forum Incheon (IPSF Incheon 2025) — and now they've taken it even further with a published paper. With support from Dr. Roland B. Wilson, their work is reaching an even wider audience.
