Semyung University was established in accordance with its founding philosophy, the Wi Se Gwang Myung, which means "To educate people on how to make this world a better place for all." Based on this idea, SMU has been recognized as one of the highest -level private universities in the central region of South Korea. Scross the green campus of 2.1 million square meters, approximately 8,500 Korean Stu
dents and 300 international students from 22 different countries are working towards their degrees in both undergraduate and graduate programs. In 2010, the Ministry of Education appointed SMU as one of the best universities in the "National Project for Leading Universities" having some of the best undergraduate programs available. Accordingly, students from any country will be provided with the best quality education offered in state-of-the-art educational facilities. In consideration of some of our international students who may or may not follow Christianity, a great kitchen and praying room are provided. International students will also be provided with on-campus housing and meals. Our plan is based upon providing a practical education while also fostering a respect for the needs of humankind. To realize our goals, we have developed academic-industrial cooperation programs along with a continually innovative curriculum. Semyung University has built lecture halls with high-tech equipment. Semyung University has further developed its academic environment and student life by establishing an on-campus housing complex which provides 4,000beds. We believe that our residential life enriches the higher education experience and consequently also encourages greater academic achievement. Semyung University continues to strive to become a shelter for students and the starting point from which students' dream come true.
