Dear SNU GSIS students,

The SNU GSIS EU Centre is going to host 14th Euro-Asia Online Summer School, one session in late August and another session in early September. The August session will be hosted by SNU and the KDI, then the September session will be hosted by the KU Leuven. We will upload the information sheet for both sessions, as soon as the topic and lecturers are decided.

1) 14th Euro-Asia Online Summer School: Topic TBA

The August session will be opened from the 16th of August, Tuesday and will be finished on the 22st of August, Monday. In this program, multinational grad students from Europe and Asia to learn and participate in the inter-regional issues, inter-cultural dialogues and multi-perspective based discussions. Professors will be able to give a lecture and discuss with diverse students, whereas students from Asia and Europe are going to experience, mutually expand their academic perspectives and interests.

Tuition Fee: Free of charge

2) 14th Euro-Asia Online Summer School: Topic TBA

The aim of the Euro-Asia Summer School topic TBA, organized by the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies (Belgium), Hitotsubashi University (Japan), Seoul National University (South Korea), the KDI School of Public Policy and Management (South Korea) and the Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (Spain), is to bring together talented students from Asia and Europe to study key aspects of global governance from comparative perspectives. This is a key opportunity for young talents to meet and interact and therefore to facilitate inter-cultural dialogues on global governance.

The Jean Monnet Network ETEE invites you to join its 2nd Spring School on European Encounters and Exchanges with other world regions. Attendees from around the world will have the opportunity to participate in person or virtually via Zoom in lectures and group discussions. Students will interact with scholars and master-level colleagues from 8 partner institutions. They will learn and debate about the complex legacies of European inter-connections with other regions through the multidisciplinary lenses of global governance and global history.

The Office of International Affairs would like to cordially invite you to participate in this year’s digital SNU in the World Program. Participants will have the chance to deepen their knowledge on various subjects by participating in both online and offline classes offered by esteemed professors from SNU and overseas universities. This program’s full official name is “Digital SNU in Europe: EU and Current European Affairs”. This program will be held from 20th(Thursday) to 27th(Thursday) January 2022. This event will be organized by the Jean Monnet EU Centre of Excellence, Graduate School of International Studies, Seoul National University, and the Office of International Affairs, Seoul National University

Students will have an opportunity to meet different professors from diverse European universities such as Birmingham City University, Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals, KU Leuven, Seoul National University, University of Berlin, University of Limerick, and

[Inter-Jmeuce Program]

Dear students, We hope everyone is wrapping their
fall semester neatly. From this fall semester 2021, SNU GSIS Jmeuce has decided to cooperate with KU GSIS Jmeuce
in the name of Inter-Jmeuce program. As the program was launched,
both SNU GSIS AND KU GSIS have shared its special lecture program of this semester.

To introduce three special lecture done by KU GSIS Jmeuce, they have hosted
Francois Bontemps, who is Ambassador of Belgian embassy in Korea, Julian Quintart who is a belgian celebrity and Petar Mihatov who is Director – General for Political Affairs at Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia.

We hope to sustain and strengthen this collaborative and cooperative relationship with KU GSIS Jmeuce. We also wish to invite and cooperate with other Jmeuce from universities located in Korea.

The EU Centre is going to host a special lecture by Frank Rüdiger, who is currently a Professor of East Asian Economy and Society, and Head of the Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Vienna.

The lecture will be given on the 18th of November, 2021.
The date is Thursday and it will start from 15:30pm to 17:30pm

The topic of the distinguished lecture is
"Comparing German and Korean Unification:
Challenges and Pitfalls"

The EU Centre is going to host a Distinguished lecture by H.E Philippe Lefort, who is currently serving as Ambassador of France to the Republic of Korea.

The lecture will be given on the 4th of November, 2021.
The date is Thursday and it will start from 15:00pm to 16:30pm

The topic of the distinguished lecture is
"The priorities of the French diplomacy at the dawn of the French Presidency
of the European Union (January – June 2022)"
