🕯️ 10월 7일 희생자를 기리며 (October 7 Commemorative Ceremony)

주한 이스라엘대사관은 10월 7일 참사 희생자분들을 추모하고, 생존자와 유가족분들께 깊은 연대의 마음을 전하기 위해 엄숙한 추모식을 개최했습니다.

각국 외교단과 국내 주요 인사, 이스라엘 공동체가 참석한 가운데, 촛불 점화와 추도 기도, 그리고 희생자를 기리는 추모 공연을 함께 나누었습니다.

뜻깊은 자리를 함께해 주신 귀빈 여러분께 깊은 감사를 드립니다:

카르니 싸기 대사 내정자는 폐회사에서 그날 잃은 소중한 친구들을 아프게 되새기며 다음과 같이 강조했습니다.

”우리는 희생자를 기억함으로써 그들을 기리고, 생존자를 지원하며, 모두가 평화와 존엄, 흔들림 없는 안전 속에 살아가는 미래를 향해 나아가겠습니다.“

아울러 테러와 모든 형태의 극단주의에 맞서 공포와 폭력 없는 미래를 만들어 가기 위해 민주주의 국가 간의 연대가 매우 중요함을 강조했습니다.

희생된 모든 분들의 명복을 빌며, 슬픔을 겪은 모든 분들과 언제나 함께하겠습니다. 🕯️💙

The Embassy of Israel in the Republic of Korea held a solemn ceremony to honor the victims of the October 7th tragedy and stand in solidarity with survivors and bereaved families.

Joined by members of the diplomatic corps, Korean dignitaries, and the Israeli community, we shared in a tribute featuring a candle-lighting ceremony, memorial prayers, and performances.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our honored guests:
- Hwang Woo-yea, Chairman of the Korea-Israel Friendship Association
- ⁠Yun Young-ki, Deputy Director-General for African and Middle Eastern Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- ⁠Jeong Ho-jin, Vice Chairman of Korea-Israel Friendship Association

In his closing remarks, Ambassador-Designate H.E. Karni Sagi shared a personal tribute to the friends he lost and stated:
”We honor our victims by remembering them, support our survivors, and strive for a future where all can live in peace, dignity, and unwavering security.“

He further underscored the vital bond between democratic nations in combating terrorism and radicalism to build a future free from fear and violence.

We stand in unwavering solidarity with all affected. May the memories of the victims be a blessing. 🕯️💙

[2026 서울 이스라엘 평화대회 및 행진 성료]

10월 3일(토), 초막절을 맞아 ‘One New Man’을 주제로 한 ‘2026 이스라엘 평화대회 및 행진’이 서울 도심에서 성황리에 개최되었습니다.

‘이스라엘을 사랑하는 교회와 단체 연합’이 주최하고 ‘대한민국 국가기도제단’이 주관한 이번 행사에는 수백 명의 시민과 관계자들이 참석해 서울역광장에서부터 명동을 거쳐 이스라엘 대사관 인근까지 행진하며 양국의 연대와 중동 지역의 평화를 기원했습니다.

이날 현장에서는 다비드 아타르(David Atar) 주한 이스라엘 대사대리의 영상 메시지가 소개되었습니다.

아타르 대사대리는 “지난 3년간의 도전적인 시기 속에서 한국의 친구들이 보내준 따뜻한 지지와 연대는 이스라엘 국민들에게 큰 힘과 위로가 되고 있다”며, “민주주의와 평화의 가치를 공유하는 한국과 이스라엘이 앞으로도 우정과 기도를 통해 긴밀히 함께하길 바란다”고 감사의 뜻을 전했습니다.

또한 메시지 마무리에 한국어로 직접 감사를 전하며 양국의 무궁한 발전과 평화를 기원했습니다.

[2026 Israel Peace Rally and March Successfully Held in Seoul]

On October 3, the ”2026 Israel Peace Rally and March“ took place in downtown Seoul in celebration of Sukkot, themed “One New Man.”

Hosted by the Coalition of Churches and Organizations Supporting Israel and organized by the National Prayer Altar of Korea, the event brought together hundreds of participants. Gathering at Seoul Station Plaza, attendees marched through the heart of Seoul—including Namdaemun and Myeongdong—toward the vicinity of the Embassy of Israel to express solidarity and pray for peace in Israel and the Middle East.

During the rally, a video message from David Atar, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Israel in Korea, was presented to the audience.

In his message, Mr. Atar expressed deep appreciation to the Korean people, stating that the support and prayers from Korea over the past three challenging years have provided immense comfort and strength to the people of Israel. He emphasized that both Korea and Israel share core democratic values, rich traditions, and a common commitment to peace.
Closing his remarks in Korean, Mr. Atar shared a warm message of gratitude: ”Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for your friendship. And thank you for standing with Israel.“

We sincerely thank the organizers and all who joined today’s march to stand with Israel and pray for a peaceful future.

🎨 광주 ACC에서 만나는 인상주의 거장들

다비드 아타르(David Atar) 공관차석이 국립아시아문화전당(ACC)에서 열린 《인상파, 찬란한 순간들》 개막식에 참석했습니다.

이날 개막식 행사에는 송진희 국립아시아문화전당재단 이사장, 김명규 국립아시아문화전당재단 사장, 한동규 KBS미디어 본부장, 양진영 이엔에이파트너스 대표를 비롯해 이스라엘 뮤지엄의 시반 에란-레비안(Sivan Eran-Levian) 해외 순회 전시 총괄, 로넨 도르(Ronen Dor) 목재 보존·복원 전문가/쿠리어 등 주요 인사들이 참석해 자리를 빛내주셨습니다. 📸✨

David Atar, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Israel in Korea, attended the opening ceremony of “Masters of Impressionism – Monet, Renoir, Van Gogh and Cézanne” at the Asia Culture Center (ACC).

The opening ceremony was attended by key distinguished guests, including Jinhee Song, Chairperson of the ACC Foundation; Myunggyu Kim, President of the ACC Foundation; Donggyu Han, Head of Department at KBS Media; Jinyoung Yang, CEO of ENA Partners; Sivan Eran-Levian, Head of Traveling Exhibitions at The Israel Museum, Jerusalem; and Ronen Dor, Head of Wood Conservation at The Israel Museum, Jerusalem. 📸✨

We spend our special thanks to delegation of the Israel museum and the directors of ACC for the wonderful initiative!✨

This special exhibition brings together 21 major works by 11 legendary Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masters. A special highlight is Vincent van Gogh’s iconic “Poppies in a Wheat Field,” presented in Korea for the very first time.
