Congratulations to B. K.G. Beddage on becoming the Winner in the Individual Category at Master Designer V3.0, an all-island graphic design competition organised by the Media Unit of Sri Lanka Technology Campus (SLTC).

Workshop - Industry Trends, End-to-End Pipelines & Practical AI

The Department of Data Science, Faculty of Computing, at the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, is pleased to organise an insightful hands-on workshop on “Industry Trends, End-to-End Pipelines & Practical AI”, designed to bridge the gap between academic foundations and industry practices on Monday, 11th, at 2:00 p.m. at the FoC Lab.

The session will be conducted by Dr. Sagara Sumathipala, Data Scientist at Commonwealth Bank – Business Banking AI Centre of Excellence (AiCE).

The workshop will cover emerging industry trends, ML pipelines, Python tooling, prompt engineering, agentic AI systems, and career pathways in Data Science while providing hands-on exposure to practical AI concepts, explainable AI, RAG architecture, and portfolio building.

Welcoming the newly elected Dean of FoC: Professor B.T.G.S. Kumara

We are delighted to congratulate Professor B.T.G.S. Kumara on assuming duties as the Dean of the Faculty of Computing (FoC) at the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka.

An accomplished academic with a PhD from the University of Aizu, Professor Kumara has made remarkable contributions to teaching, research, and leadership. He currently serves as Head of the Department of Software Engineering and Director of the Centre for Computer Studies, alongside holding several key academic leadership roles.
