Jayasekera, founder of JMC Jayasekera Management Centre started a small group class with 3 students, who were preparing for Government Clerical Service Efficiency Bar Examination, in a remote place located at Gangodawila, Nugegoda, Sri Lanka. Later as requested by his students, he started classes for Chartered Accountancy, Government Accountants and other Professional Accountancy & Management Cour
ses. Finally, he could achieve his goal by registering “JMC Jayasekera Management Centre” as a Limited Liability Company under the Companies Act. It has now grown to that of the largest professional educational institute in South Asia. With his far reaching vision, he has directed his activities to many educational streams such as JMC Faculty of Professional Accountancy (20.08.1972), JMC Faculty of External Degree (01.01.1990) JMC Saturday English Medium School (01.01.1997), JMC School of Computers (12.06.1997), JMC College International (08.01.1998), JMC Teacher Training Academy (01.01.2002),JMC Language Faculty (01.01.2003), JMC Udara Advertising (01.01.2006) JMC Overseas Degree Unit (01.01.2010), JMC Student Exchange Program (01.01.2014) etc. He has expanded his activities throughout the country, by starting 25 branches island wide. In the year 2016 he and his team celebrate 44th Anniversary of JMC which is considered as a Year of Innovation in Professional and Academic education in Sri Lanka.
