Exploring New Technologies and Opportunities for Science Education at NSBM
Senior Professor Pathmalal Manage and Dr Madhavi Hewadikaram, representing NSBM Faculty of Science, visited the Gold Coast and Lismore campuses of Southern Cross University (SCU), Australia, to observe advanced laboratory facilities and explore new technologies, laboratory practices and potential opportunities that could be incorporated into future programmes at NSBM Faculty of Science.
During the visit, the delegates toured SCU’s Environmental Analysis Laboratory (EAL), Analytical Research Laboratory (ARL), Medicinal Plant Herbarium, science laboratories and modern Nursing Clinical and Simulation Laboratories. The visit provided valuable insights into advanced analytical technologies, environmental testing, medicinal plant research, laboratory quality systems and simulation-based health sciences education.
The visit marks another step towards identifying international best practices and exploring opportunities to introduce modern technologies, industry-relevant laboratory approaches and enhanced practical learning experiences into future Faculty of Science programmes at NSBM Green University.
