The Library - Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology University of kelaniya Welcome to Sri Lankan much greater wealth and of information Sources in the field of Archaeology, Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology (PGIAR) Library .

The Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology (PGIAR)- Since the establishment of the PGIAR in 1986, its one of the major aims has been to develop the library of the institute to an excellent standard with a valuable collection of reference works. Today, the library caters to the academic staff as well as the postgraduate students of the institute with a vast collection of books, monographs, journals

and other documents covering the archaeology and related subject disciplines of South and Southeast Asia along with a few material covering the cultures such as Babylonians, Assyrians, Phoenicians, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Greek, Hellenistic, Roman, Aztecs, Vikings and the Oceania. The collection has over 20000 books which, includes the Deraniyagala, Bandaranayake, Anjalendra, Devendra and Brohire loan collections. The pamphlets are also a very special kind of collection of the library.
