✨ Annual General Meeting 2026 ✨

The Annual General Meeting of the Golden Z Club, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo was successfully held on 31st July 2026 at the New Building Lecture Hall.

The evening marked the conclusion of the remarkable journey of the Outgoing Committee 2025/2026, as they officially stepped down after a year of dedicated service. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for their commitment and invaluable contributions.
We also proudly welcomed and appointed the Incoming Committee 2026/2027, who now take on the responsibility of leading the club forward with fresh vision, passion and purpose.

Discover why PCOS is being redefined as PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome) a name that better represents what millions experience beyond just ovarian symptoms.

இது வெறும் கருப்பை நீர்க்கட்டிகள் (Cysts) பற்றியது மட்டுமல்ல. இது வெறும் சூலகங்கள் (Ovaries) பற்றியதும் அல்ல.

PCOS ஏன் தற்போது PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome) என மறுவரையறுக்கப்படுகிறது என்பதை அறிந்து கொள்ளுங்கள். இந்த புதிய பெயர், வெறும் கருப்பை தொடர்பான அறிகுறிகளைத் தாண்டி, உலகம் முழுவதும் கோடிக்கணக்கான பெண்கள் அனுபவிக்கும் பல்வேறு உடல்நலப் பிரச்சினைகளை மிகவும் துல்லியமாக பிரதிபலிக்கிறது.

மற்றும் இந்த செய்தியை மேலும் பயனுள்ளதாகவும் விளக்கமாகவும் வழங்க உதவிய கொழும்பு பல்கலைக்கழக மருத்துவ பீடத்தின் மகப்பேறு மற்றும் மகளிர் மருத்துவத் துறையைச் சேர்ந்த பேராசிரியர் எம். ஆர். எம். ரிஷார்ட் அவர்களுக்கும், குழந்தை மருத்துவத் துறையின் விரிவுரையாளர் திருமதி யஷோதா ஹெட்டியாரச்சி அவர்களுக்கும் எங்களது மனமார்ந்த நன்றிகளை தெரிவித்துக்கொள்கிறோம்.

✨The panel discussion titled “Safe Space, Safe Practice” on workplace safety for medical professionals was successfully completed on 13th May 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall, UCFM Tower organized by the Golden Z club of FOM, UOC.✨

The session featured insightful contributions from Attorney-at-Law and Founder of Yeheliya Foundation, Naushalya Rajapaksha and Dr. Manudi Vidanapathirana, Senior Registrar in Nephrology at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka.

The discussion created an important platform to address challenges related to workplace safety, professional wellbeing and creating supportive environments within the healthcare sector.

The Wassana Diyawara Health Camp 2025/2026, organized by the Medical Students' Buddhist Association, was held on the 10th of May 2026 at Mahagalwewa Kanishta Vidyalaya, Sooriyawewa.

The Golden Z Club was privileged to organize the Gyn & Obs Clinic at the event.

The clinic was a great success. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist Prof. Athula Kaluarachchi, his team,
the Family Planning Association (FPA) and the Sooriyawewa MOH team for their invaluable support, guidance and assistance throughout the clinic.

Special thanks to our mother club, Zonta Club I of Colombo and to everyone who generously contributed towards donating medicines and supporting the initiative.
