🎓 Orientation Programme – MBA Batch 20 🎓

The Orientation Programme for MBA Batch 20 was successfully held on 12th September 2026 at, University of Kelaniya.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome and introduction by Professor Madurika Nanayakkara, Academic Coordinator of the MBA Programme, followed by an inspiring address by Dr. S. C. Thushara, Dean of the Faculty.

The students also received valuable guidance on the important academic and administrative matters relating to their studentship by Ms. Harshi Ekanayake - Technical Coordinator, and access to the University’s e-library facilities by Dr Achala Ranaweera.

The programme concluded with an engaging Leadership Skills Workshop conducted by Professor Ajith Medis.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all the distinguished speakers and resource persons for sharing their valuable knowledge and expertise.

The MBA Kelaniya Celebrating 20 Years of Academic Excellence with the Inauguration of Batch 20

The University of Kelaniya’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme proudly marked 20 years of excellence in management education with the inauguration of the MBA – Batch 20 (2026) on 07 September 2026 at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo.

The prestigious occasion was graced by Prof. Narada Fernando, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, as the Chief Guest, and Senior Prof. Priyani Paranagama, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, as the Guest of Honour. Dr. S. C. Thushara, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, was also present at the ceremony.

The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Mathiesha Mahamalage, Head of Talent Development, Star Garments Group Sri Lanka, who shared valuable insights and perspectives with the new cohort as they embark on their MBA journey.

The event was further attended by Prof. Madurika Nanayakkara, Academic Coordinator of the MBA Programme; Ms. Harshika Ekanayake, Technical Coordinator of the MBA Programme; Acting Registrar Ms. Namal Yalegama; academic and executive staff; and representatives of the MBA Programme’s learning partners.

The inauguration marked not only the beginning of an exciting academic journey for MBA Batch 20, but also a remarkable milestone in the history of MBA Kelaniya. For two decades, the programme has remained committed to nurturing knowledge, leadership, innovation, and professional excellence, empowering generations of professionals to make a meaningful impact in the business world.
