රුහුණ විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ සිංහල අධ්යයනාංශයේ 1000 ස්ථලයේ SLS12613/12513 භාෂා ප්රවේශය පාඨමාලාවට අදාළ ව විද්යාර්ථින් 303ක් සමාජීය හා ප්රදේශීය උප භාෂා කලාප පහළොවක් ඔස්සේ ඉදිරිපත් කළ 'හෙළ බසේ මිහිර කැටි වූ භාෂා කඳවුර 2025/2026' අති විචිත්රත්ව 2026.01.10 දින දවස පුරා මානව ශාස්ත්ර හා සමාජීය විද්යා පීඨ ශ්රවණාගාර පරිශ්රයේ දී පැවැත්විණි. මේ අවස්ථාවට රුහුණ විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ වැඩබලන උපකුලපතිනි මහාචාර්ය ඩී. එච්. එන්. මුණසිංහ මහත්මිය ප්රධාන ආරාධිත අමුත්තිය වශයෙන් සහභාගි වූවා ය. මීට අමතර ව භාෂා ප්රවේශය පාඨමාලාවේ සම්බන්ධීකාරක ජ්යෙ. කථි. ආචාර්ය පූජ්ය මොරකන්දේගොඩ අරියවංස හිමි ද සිංහල අධ්යයනාංශයේ අංශාධිපතිනි මහාචාර්ය සන්ධ්යා කහඳගමගේ, තොරතුරු තාක්ෂණ අධ්යයනාංශයේ අංශාධිපති ආචාර්ය කෝකිල රාමනායක, ඉංග්රීසි භාෂා ඉගෙනුම් අධ්යයනාංශයේ අංශාධිපති ආචාර්ය සංජය සමරවීර, ආර්ථික විද්යා අධ්යයනාංශයේ මහාචාර්ය නන්දසිරි කීඹියහෙට්ටි, ජ්යෙ. කථි. ආචාර්ය එස්. කේ. සරත්, රාජ්යප්රතිපත්ති අධ්යයනාංශයේ ජ්යෙ. කථි. ආචාර්ය ශම්මික ලියනගේ, සිංහල අධ්යයනාංශයේ ජ්යෙ. කථි. ආචාර්ය දර්ශන ලියනගේ හා ආචාර්ය කිත්සිරි මිහිර බණ්ඩාර යන මහත්ම මහත්මීහු සහභාහි වූහ.
මෙම වැඩසටහනේ සම්බන්ධීකරණ කටයුතු සිංහල අධ්යයනාංශයේ සහාය කථිකාචාර්ය මහේෂ් රොහාන් විසින් සිදු කෙරිණි.
The Language Camp (Hela Base Mihira Keti Wu Bhasha Kandawura) was successfully held on 10 January 2026 at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences premises, University of Ruhuna.
The programme was organized by 303 first-year undergraduates who are following the SLS 12513 / 12613 – Approach to Language course. As part of the camp, the students designed and presented 15 Language Zones, each focusing on key linguistic concepts, particularly social dialects (sociolects) and regional dialects (regional varieties), providing an experiential and interactive learning environment.
The event was graced by Professor D. H. N. Munasinghe, Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna, as the Chief Guest.
The programme was further honoured by the presence of Dr. Ven. Morakandegoda Ariyawansa Thero, Coordinator of the Approach to Language course; Professor Sandya Kahandagamage, Head of the Department of Sinhala; Dr. Kokila Ramanayaka, Head of the Department of Information Technology and representative to the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; Dr. Sanjaya Samaraweera, Head of the Department of English Language Teaching; Dr. S. K. Sarath, Senior Lecturer, Department of Economics; Dr. Shammika Liyanage, Senior Lecturer, Department of Public Policy; Dr. Darshana Liyanage and Dr. Kithsiri Mihira Bandara, Senior Lecturers of the Department of Sinhala; and Mr. Nipuna Balasooriya, Teacher of Drama and Theatre, Rahula College, Matara.
Mr. Mahesh Rohan Jayawardhana, Assistant lecturer, Deartment of Sinhala who co-ordinated this programme.
The Language Camp served as a dynamic academic platform, enabling undergraduates to apply theoretical knowledge of linguistics to real-world language use while promoting collaborative and creative learning.
