The University of Moratuwa (UoM) which is the only Technological University in Sri Lanka is located at the heart of a beautiful, vibrant and geographically well-connected city. We pride ourselves in having an excellent Engineering Faculty and being the only University in Sri Lanka to have Faculties of Architecture and Information Technology. While there are opportunities for overseas students to pursue undergraduate courses of study, we especially welcome graduate students from overseas for our postgraduate degree courses and research programs. The vision of UoM is “to be the most globally recognised Knowledge Enterprise in Asia.” Within this vision, our immediate focus is to produce world class graduates at the UoM. Hence, the aim of the University is to produce academically sound, self confident, flexible and internationally recognized quality graduates who are able to hit the ground running from day one, and who can realise their true potential studying together and thereafter working together as professionals in Sri Lanka. UoM hosts the 22nd Global Conference on Sustainable Manufacturing (GCSM) 2026 in Colombo.

The 22nd Global Conference on Sustainable Manufacturing (GCSM 2026) was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from 23rd to 25th September 2026, marking an important milestone for the international sustainable manufacturing community and a significant achievement for Sri Lanka’s university sector. The conference was hosted by the University of Moratuwa in collaboration with the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) and Fraunhofer IPK, with contributions from other Sri Lankan universities. It was the first time that the GCSM series was held in Sri Lanka.
