With sincere respect and gratitude, we mark the retirement of Senior Professor Neville Warnakulaooriya from the Department of Marketing Management.

Education should never be a casualty of disaster🌱

In the wake of recent floods/landslides, when many lives were disrupted, one thing remains clear: learning must go on…

With this spirit, the Department of Marketing Management, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepurahas launched a donation drive to support students affected in the Hatharaliyadda Provincial Council area.

This initiative focuses on distributing stationery, school uniforms, and shoes, simple essentials that make a powerful difference in helping children return to school with confidence.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to all supporting parties who stood with us in this meaningful cause. A special thank you to Senior Professor Neville Warnakulasooriya for initiating and guiding this compassionate effort.

Today marked the last department meeting of the year 2025, and also a very emotional moment for all of us.

Sadly, this was the last formal meeting of our beloved Neville Sir. As a mark of our gratitude and respect, all staff members— including those on leave—joined today’s meeting, just to be part of this special moment.

Sir, your guidance, dedication, and kindness have left a lasting impact on each of us. You will always remain a part of our department and our hearts.

The Department of Marketing Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, is immensely proud to announce the successful conclusion of the Marketing Alumni Association's AGM 2025!

This pivotal event, held recently, truly exemplified the collective strength and dedication of our esteemed graduates, reinforcing the powerful bond between the department and its alumni.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed executive committee who will lead the association, including the President: Mr. Oshadee Withanawasam (Chairman and CEO of TIIKM) and the Secretary: Mr. Vimukthi Kaushalya (Brand Manager at Maliban Group).

We are confident that vast industry experience and leadership of the new executive committee will guide the Marketing Alumni Association to greater accomplishments in the coming year.
We look forward to collaborating closely with the new committee as they continue to strengthen this vital network!

Elevate 2025 – Inspire · Empower · Discover

On 6th September 2025, the Waters Edge Hotel – Pelican Hall became a hub of growth and motivation as the Department of Marketing Management, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce of University of Sri Jayewardenepura, hosted the transformative workshop under the course MM10209:Personality and Skills Development in Master of Science in Marketing and Master of Marketing Programs.

The keynote speaker, Mr. Sumudu Ishara Thanthirigoda, CEO of Maliban Milk and Agri Business within the Maliban Group, shared valuable insights on leadership, personal growth, and professional development.

The event also featured a Harmony Circle facilitated by Mr. Tharindu Weerasinghe, Senior Lecturer, University of Kelaniya with the support of third year marketing undergraduates of the Department of Marketing Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

In addition, a Power Circle was conducted with resource persons from the Department of Sports Science, providing participants with interactive sessions focused on motivation, teamwork, and performance enhancement.

The workshop concluded on a high note and was celebrated as an utter success by all participants and organizers.
