🌟 FGS Staff Development Training Programme 2026🌟

The Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS), University of Sri Jayewardenepura, successfully participated in a one-day training programme held on 15 September 2026 at Pegasus Reef Hotel, Wattala.

The programme was organised by the Staff Development Centre (SDC), University of Sri Jayewardenepura, with the participation of Snr. Prof. Rasika Perera, Dean, FGS; Mrs. Madushi Egodage, Senior Assistant Registrar, FGS; Mr. Viraj Fernando, Deputy Bursar, FGS; and all staff members of the Faculty.

🎓 Snr. Prof. Anuruna S. Gamage served as the resource person and conducted an engaging and insightful training programme, providing the staff with a valuable opportunity for learning, professional development, teamwork, and collaboration.

The Faculty of Graduate Studies sincerely appreciates Dr. Ranil Peiris, Director, SDC, USJ and his dedicated team for organising this valuable programme and for their continued support towards staff development.

The Quality Assurance Cell of Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, successfully conducted a workshop on Postgraduate Programme Review on 19 August 2026 at the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

The workshop was facilitated by Prof. R. B. Marasinghe, Director of the Centre for Quality Assurance, who provided valuable guidance on the preparation of new postgraduate programme applications and the postgraduate programme review process.

The workshop attracted the participation of academics and administrative staff representing various faculties and departments of the University. The Faculty of Graduate Studies extends its sincere appreciation to Prof. Marasinghe and all participants for their valuable contributions towards strengthening the quality and standards of postgraduate education.

It is with profound sorrow that the Department of Business Economics mourns the passing of Professor Kumudini Sriyalatha, one of the Department’s most distinguished and deeply respected academics.

Professor Sriyalatha was an exceptional academic, a devoted teacher and mentor, and a valued colleague. Her scholarship, leadership, and many years of service made an enduring contribution to the Department and enriched the academic journeys of generations of students.

Her passing is an immeasurable loss to the Department of Business Economics and the wider university community. Her wisdom, kindness, and commitment to academic excellence will be remembered with the deepest respect, affection, and gratitude.

The Department extends its heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones during this time of immense grief. We share their sorrow as we remember and honour a truly remarkable member of our Department.
