Founded in 2012, we have grown over the years and have become the most sought after school in the area. The school is managed by Mrs.

Highbrow College is a school which aims to provide a well-designed study program using best educational practices considering the cultural, intellectual and social needs of children. Highbrow Montessori commenced the education service in January 2012 with 19 students and has grown to be one of the most sought after Montessori schools in the area. After achieving a student count of over 200 in just

two years, Highbrow commenced in primary school offering education to grade one with local government syllabus in English medium. The school is planning to increase the grades adding a higher grade every year. Deidri Welihinda who is a well-qualified and highly experienced teacher who has taught both in Sri Lanka and overseas and the teaching faculty comprise of AMI qualified, experienced teachers.

Highbrow College and Montessori commemorated the sacred Poson Festival by organizing a fish bun and plain tea distribution on 1st July 2026. The event was successfully conducted through the generous contributions and active participation of parents, students, and teachers.

This noble initiative reflected the spirit of Poson, promoting values of generosity, compassion, and community service. The enthusiastic involvement of the entire Highbrow family made the event a meaningful and memorable occasion, fostering unity and goodwill among all participants.

Highbrow College Sports Meet 2026 was held on 26th May at De Soysa Stadium, Moratuwa, showcasing a vibrant celebration of school sports and unity.

The Chief Guest of the occasion was Mr. Chinthaka Soysa, an Olympian from Sri Lanka, whose presence added prestige and inspiration to the event. Students from Grade one onwards actively participated in a wide range of track and field events, demonstrating enthusiasm and sporting spirit.

The event was further enriched by captivating performances from the college’s Eastern and Western bands, along with a well-coordinated and visually impressive drill display, making the day a colourful and memorable celebration for all.

Vesak Commemoration 2026 at Highbrow College

In commemoration of the Vesak Festival 2026, Highbrow College organized a series of religious and charitable activities involving students from all sections of the school.

Students of Grades 6 to 11 participated in a Sil programme, observing religious practices with devotion and mindfulness, reflecting on the teachings of the Buddha.

The Primary Section students took part in a Bana programme, where they listened attentively to sermons and learned valuable lessons on kindness, compassion, and moral conduct.

The Montessori students enthusiastically organized a Biscuit Dansela, sharing biscuits with others and experiencing the joy of giving, which is a key value celebrated during Vesak.

These activities provided meaningful opportunities for students to strengthen their spiritual values, cultivate generosity, and appreciate the significance of Vesak in fostering harmony and compassion within the community.
