Dear Alumni Members,
As the President, I have decided to brief you after each Executive Committee meeting and a major event to improve communication between the Institute and You.

Yesterday, our Executive Committee gathered for the first time after the AGM and formulated a three- year plan with Must Win Battles under several categories. This will enable us to work on a fixed plan, and with long-term vision. These plans will not change from the president to president, but will be improved every year.
1. Increase & engage members
Headed by Dr. Infas, we will create a few sub committees and work on an action plan to increase member awareness and engage members with the Institute and with Alumni Association. The action plan will be presented at the next meeting and will appoint the teams to support that.
2. Membership Benefits
Headed by Dr. Piyal, this will cater to the needy members in many aspects. We will create a job bank and connect you with industry, will post job opportunities. Also we are planning to shape up the final year students and any alumni members towards landing on a job, by helping them writing CVs, preparations for interviews, networking sessions with Industrial members etc. The Action plan will be presented at the next meeting
3. UGC related matters.
As the Institute and the College has already taken up that matter to consideration, we decided to support it with background work. As a result, From the Alumni Association, Dr. Infas, Dr. Ranmal, and Ms. Kumudunie will work on supporting the council with data gathering and case studies. They will reach you on your experiences, and please help us strengthening our case. If you can, please reach them soon and work with them.
4. Constitiutional Reforms.
Although we currently have a 20 year old constitution, it needs a lot of amendments. Dr. Piyal and Mr. Dayananda will work on this and will get our constitution to a solid workable one.
5. Social Activities.
In order to increase membership connectivity and to raise funds, Alumni Association will organize social functions and will work on your benefit, entertainment, and engagement. Headed by Mr.Shihan Kumarathunga, and supported by Ms.Thushari Attidiya and Mr. Rohan Botheju, the Social Activities vertical will work on above targets.

These verticals will be working on aggressive timelines and with a detailed plan to achieve the desired success. We will bring you more information as we gather them.
The sub committees will contact you time to time through the social media or via personal means. Please be cooperative enough to support us in these tasks.
Our committee is determined to serve you to the best we can, and without your support, it is difficult to go for our collective goals.
Please feel free to comment and give suggestions, we will be thankful to you for pointing out some important areas we need to improve.

Thank you very much for your time,

Dr. Piyal Ariyanada
President - Alumni Association
