♥️Congratulations🎉👏 - Kavilavan

Sri Lanka Basketball Federation, in collaboration with FIBA Asia, recently wrapped up 'Ball in Schools' program, held from January 24 to January 27 spearheaded by the expertise of FIBA's 'Ball in Schools' specialist, Mr. Nemanja Bjedov from Cyprus. The initiative witnessed the active participation of 26 coaches and physical education teachers from Sri Lanka's schools and district associations. The program's core objectives were to introduce or enhance basketball activity in schools, particularly in rural areas, and empower local ambassadors for the sport.

The culminating ceremony on January 27 at the National Olympic Committee Auditorium marked the successful conclusion of this impactful event. Moving forward, participants have committed to training a minimum of 5 physical education teachers in 5 different schools within their regions, introducing basketball to at least 2 new schools in 2024, and collaborating with a minimum of 5 volunteers to organize a series of tournaments throughout the year.

The program's success represents a significant step towards fostering basketball at the grassroots level in Sri Lanka.
