Amidst challenges for Buses to be provided by the University Authority for Students, ULSU Leadership has strived to provide few Buses for Students tomorrow through a dialogue agreement that was held with Student Affairs.

Notably, the Buses will be parked at Parker Paint Junction and the vendors have asked that each student pay at least 80LD due to the increase in fuel price.

Therefore, we plead with the student masses to accept this cost as we are lobbying to ease this long-time burden on us. Let's manage the situation for this semester.

The University of Liberia Student’s Union welcomes Dr. Maparyan as the 16th President of UL; urges her administration to take key interest in addressing the challenges hindering academic and social advancement at the nation’s premier University.

Dr. Layli Maparyan (President) and all faculties and Staffs of the university of Liberia, Campus based Student Political parties, County student associations, the varsity Christian fellowship, University of Liberia Muslim Student Association, Association of University Students living with disabilities, Student’s Proponents of social justice and academic freedom, my fellow students, members of the fourth estates, distinguished ladies and gentlemen.

The University of Liberia Student Union (ULSU), as the umbrella of all Campus-based political parties, County student associations and organizations extends a warm and revolutionary welcome to all students, faculty, and staff as we resume academic activities for this new semester.

It is with great passion that we encourage everyone to approach this academic journey with renewed energy, commitment, and focus on collective growth and transformation. The University of Liberia remains a beacon of hope, resilience, and intellectual empowerment, and we stand ready to make this academic year a productive and fulfilling one for all.

As an institution at the heart of Liberia’s intellectual and social development, the University of Liberia continues to play a pivotal role in shaping future leaders. It is, therefore, a proud moment for ULSU to congratulate Dr. Layli Maparyan on her historic appointment as the sixteenth President of the University of Liberia.

This milestone marks a new dawn in our institution’s unique history, one defined by visionary leadership and a commitment to addressing the challenges and opportunities of higher education in the 21st century.

Dr. Maparyan’s ascension to this esteemed position comes at a time when the University of Liberia faces both significant challenges and promising opportunities.

The challenges of financial corruption, inadequate classroom performances by lecturers, credential falsification, structural deficit and massive meddling into every activity of student’s leadership are just few of the many obstacles that had undermined academic growth and student’s development at the state-run university.

ULSU wants to categorially inform you madam president that those who are the perpetrators of these sinister acts are well alive and determined to go at any length in sustaining this spoiled system which only benefit them and not the purpose of education.

ULSU stands ready to fight along with you in our quest of instituting reform at any cost.
It is our hope that your wealth of experience, innovative spirit, and unwavering dedication to academic excellence will undoubtedly chart a progressive course for the institution.

As students, we remain optimistic about your ability to foster a culture of collaboration, inclusiveness, and academic rigor that will elevate the university to greater heights.

We also call upon the faculty and administration to work closely with students to address pressing issues such as resource accessibility, curriculum enhancement, and infrastructural development.

Together, we can build a university that reflects the aspirations of all its stakeholders. However, the leadership of ULSU is not insensitive to the underfunding of the university by government successively.

It is the responsibility of the Liberian government to fund the university to the fullest extent possible as described by the chapter that created the university. On this note, ULSU calls on H.E Joseph Nyuma Boakai (President of the Republic) to muster the courage and perform this sacred duty in order to achieve the purpose in which the university was established.

Dr. Maparyan’s leadership should offer a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of hope for the future of the University of Liberia. As student leaders, it is our anticipation that her trailblazing achievements and her commitment to creating an inclusive and dynamic learning environment will be achieved no matter the circumstances.

It is the student’s hope that her administration will serve as a reminder of the transformative power of education and the importance of visionary leadership in achieving institutional goals.

ULSU CONDEMNS THE DISRUPTION OF CLASSES, CALLS ON STUDENT'S AFFAIRS TO INVESTIGATE & FOR UL ADMINISTRATION TO SETTLE THE E_PORTAL TECHNICAL PROBLEM.

Fellow Students, Political parties, various Student groupings; member of the press, we great you with heavy heart and with dismay as we witnessed an unscrupulous and an act of gangsterism exhibited by some aggrieved Students that disrupted classes today due to some political differences with Student Affairs as they called for the immediate resignation of vice president of Student Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dean. Sekou W. Konneh.

The Leadership of ULSU believes that such issue of party's politics should not come in conflict with the academic learning of the ordinary Students but instead, that those issues within a party that confronts militants should be settle in house.

However, ULSU calls on Student Affairs to carry on a speedy investigation and bring those violators to book as per the revised Student's Handbook in order to restore civility on Campus as Students are prepare to sit for their finals on July 15, 2024. Gone are those days that group of Students will jeopardize the educational sojourn of the Student Populace by disrupting their classes and going with impunity.

ULSU believes that as Students, our protestations should center around the collective interest of an enabling learning environment if dialogues are reached and there seems no adherence from the UL's Administration and the government of Liberia.

Fellow Students, we regret the unfortunate and an unorthodox path taken by those Students against your educational and constitutional rights by depriving you today; we do assure you that academic justice will be served.

Henceforth, it has reached the attention of ULSU that the eportal system has been experiencing some technical glitches as Students are facing problems to access the system. With ULSU's agenda in protecting, advocating for the rights of Students and seeking opportunities, the Leadership met with UL's Administration in ensuring that timely interventions are being made before the final exam that's scheduled for the 15th of July, A.D 2024.

Therefore, ULSU assure the Students that the semester will end and should not panic about the unfortunate situation that occurred on the capitol hill campus today, as we look forward to Student Affairs to settle the political dispute among those aggrieved Students in calling for calm and academic civility on Campus.

THE UNIVERSITY OF LIBERIA STUDENT UNION AlONG WITH SUP, PROSA, & STUDA STANDS WITH The JUNE 19, 2024 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF LIBERIA.
With an agitated feeling of disregard, we present you warm salutations from the headquarters of the University of Liberia Student Union (ULSU), the largest and biggest student constituent group on the campuses of the University of Liberia.
Over the years, ULSU has been a consistent institution on the University of Liberia campuses, standing not only in defense of the student masses but also on the side of faculties and administrators, ensuring a conducive environment for all, and advocating for their well-being.
Comrades and friends, members of the press, may we inform the students and the Liberian people that on many occasions, when the University is faced with daunting challenges like under-funding, low faculty salaries, poor infrastructure, and lack of faculty, the students of the University of Liberia has always made demands to the University administration and the Liberian government to listen to the University and see a reason to provide needed resources for the smooth and adequate operation of the institution. We have done this with vibrancy and uncompromising fervor since our inception and foundation as an institution. Holding to this historical duty, on June 18, 2024, we graced the invitation of the board of trustees of the University of Liberia as a constituent stakeholder of the University of Liberia to participate and advance possible efforts in handling and resolving the issues raised by ULFA through an eight count
,

resolution and strike action. As constituent stakeholders, we embraced and participated in the meeting by offering sane
suggestions which led to the June 19, 2024 resolution of the board of trustees.
We believe as an institution and the largest constituent body of the university, the June 19, 2024 resolution represents and reflects the participation and involvement of all student-based organizations which should be respected and regarded by all constituent stakeholders of the university who attended said meeting. Undermining that resolution without the knowledge of others is a gross disregard and disrespect to us the students, and consequently, we are not going to accept and endorse an overnight decision of an interim arrangement that we were not a part of. Fellow students, Liberians, and members of the board of trustees, we believe if there’s any change in this decision which was derived after a long period of conversation, dialogue, and negotiations, we would expect that similar steps be taken to avoid a situation of unilateral decision which undermines the democratic values and overwhelming interest of the students of the University.
As you may be aware, the University of Liberia is an academic institution and as such, serious considerations must be made before critical decisions such as a transition in management are made. We believe that in the spirit of academic integrity, prudence, and future aspirations, we think that the current issues of transition must be done orderly, meticulously, and smoothly so that it does not affect the students, faculty, administrators, and alumni of the University of Liberia. As constituent stakeholders at the university that have always and historically been on the side of the students, we have consciously resolved not to be a part of or recognize any decision that tends to undermine and disregard the June 19, 2024, published and announced resolution of the board of trustees of the University of Liberia. We believe any decision outside the June 19, 2024, resolution undermines the independence, integrity, and smooth operations of the academic duties of the University. In this

regard, as we encourage the board to stand with the collective outcomes of what was agreed upon and take immediate actions to ensure everyone is involved and adhere to the resolution, we affixed our signatures standing and committing ourselves to the June 19, 2024 resolution that calls for the immediate resumption of classes. With immediate effect, ULSU calls on ALL STUDENT of University of Liberia to assemble en mass on the Capitol Hill Campus of the University on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 to petition the National Legislature and demand the immediate re-opener of school.

Greetings to all comrades.
As students leaders, we have been engaging the administration in a dialogue on the various challenges that has delayed the reopening of the University.

Today, ULSU President Abraham Destiny Garpehn and I (Speaker) had a fruitful discussion with V. P Sengbeh and his Deputy W. Remsee Deranamie on issues surrounding the issuance of admission letters to incoming comrades and we were assured that students who applied with all the required documents will surely receive admission letter.
