What should business school teach you to succeed in a startup?

We asked the startup community at Startup BBQ 2026, hosted by Startup House, to pick just ONE skill.

And the winner was clear: Entrepreneurship & Leadership.

Because great ideas and technology matter, but turning an idea into a business also takes the ability to lead, make decisions, build teams, and keep moving when things don’t go according to plan.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Riga Business School stand and cast their vote!

And now we’re curious: would you pick the same?

Riga Business School is proud to be part of AI Connect 2026 with multiple speakers and hands-on learning experiences for both educators and families.

Join us on August 22 throughout the day as our faculty and AI education experts explore how artificial intelligence is transforming education and how we can prepare learners of all ages for an AI-powered future.

🔵at 16.50 join Aldis Greitāns, Assistant Professor at Riga Business School, as he explores "The Impact of AI on Student Assessment: Challenges and Solutions."
Discover how generative AI is reshaping student assessment, why traditional evaluation methods are no longer always sufficient, and how universities can redesign courses and assessment to ensure meaningful learning outcomes.

🔵Throughout the day, Agnese Kramēna-Juzova, Day of AI Ambassador, will lead two interactive workshops for children:
🚀 at 11.45 – Mission AI: Create with Artificial Intelligence.
🧠 at 14.30 – Mission AI: Can You Outsmart Artificial Intelligence?

Young participants will explore how AI works, build their first machine learning model, experiment with prompts, generate images, and develop the skills to use AI creatively, critically, and responsibly.

AI Connect is a one-day event designed for developers, professionals, students, families, and anyone curious about AI. The programme includes three parallel tracks, inspiring talks, hands-on workshops, a demo zone, networking opportunities, and interactive activities for all ages.

We invite RBS students, faculty, staff, alumni, and their families to join us at AI Connect 2026.

🌎A very special week has come to an end. Over the past several days, Riga Business School had the pleasure of hosting part of “Rīga Dimd”, the 2x2 Pasaules latviešu jaunatnes seminārs. Our campus welcomed young Latvians from across the world to connect, learn, exchange ideas, and inspire one another.

For more than 60 years, the 2x2 movement has brought together young Latvians worldwide, strengthening their connection to the Latvian language, culture, and identity while fostering lifelong friendships, collaboration, and leadership.

Thank you to the organizers and all participants for making this week so memorable. We look forward to welcoming you back! 🇱🇻✨

On June 30, the LIFT project officially came to an end.

Over the past two years, LIFT has helped thousands of specialists from companies and organisations across Latvia strengthen their digital skills through practical, high-quality training in areas such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, management, digital transformation, and more.

While the project has concluded, we believe its true impact is only beginning.
The knowledge gained, the confidence built, and the new ideas sparked will continue to support organisations in their digital transformation journeys for years to come.

Thank you to every participant who chose to learn with us, to our outstanding instructors who generously shared their expertise, and to the entire LIFT project team whose dedication made this initiative possible.

Together, we have helped build a stronger digital future for Latvia.

We were honoured to welcome Ilze Indriksone, Minister of Education, and her team to RTU and Riga Business School today.

The visit provided an opportunity to highlight how RBS serves as a bridge between industry and academia, bringing together academic research and real-world industry expertise to advance innovation in higher education, particularly in the field of management and artificial intelligence.

We introduced our AI Studio initiative, which helps businesses and public sector organisations identify practical AI applications, improve productivity, and accelerate innovation through the adoption of artificial intelligence. We also shared how RBS integrates AI into education, equipping students and educators with the knowledge and skills needed for an AI-driven future. A special focus was placed on Day of AI, demonstrating how collaboration between education, industry, and international partners is expanding AI literacy across Latvia.

As Riga Business School enters an important new chapter, we would like to announce that, effective this week, Paula Elksne-Reveliņa has assumed the role of Interim Director of Riga Business School.

Paula brings a unique combination of academic, international, and leadership experience to the role. Holding degrees from both Riga Business School and the University at Buffalo, as well as an MBA from Riga Business School, she has spent nearly seven years contributing to RBS in various capacities, including as Director of the Education Innovation Laboratory, Assistant Director of Bachelor Programs, and Lecturer. Her professional experience also includes research work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and leadership roles in marketing and international projects.

Paula will continue to lead the school during a transition period as Riga Business School and the Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management (FEEM) of RTU move forward with the planned reorganization process. The new institution’s permanent director will be selected through an international executive search process.

At the same time, we extend our sincere gratitude to Inese Muzikante for her dedicated leadership, vision, and commitment to the development of Riga Business School. During her leadership, RBS strengthened its position as one of the leading business education institutions, expanded its international partnerships, and successfully moved into its new home in Ķīpsala. As Inese Muzikante embarks on a new professional chapter, having accepted a leadership opportunity elsewhere in the higher education sector, we thank her for her dedication, energy, and commitment to the RBS community and wish her every success in the future.
