Think your suturing skills are among the best at RSU? It’s time to put them to the test!

Join us for an exciting individual competition where 40 participants will compete across multiple surgical skill stations, including knot tying, simple interrupted sutures, mattress sutures, intradermal closure, and a surgical knowledge Kahoot. Participants will be scored on precision, technique, efficiency, tissue handling, and surgical knowledge.

🏆 Prize: The winner will receive a professional surgical suturing kit!

📅 Date: 10 June, 17:30
📍 Location: METC
👥 Participants: Limited to 40 students

Whether you’re just starting to learn suturing or already have surgical experience, this is a great opportunity to challenge yourself, improve your skills, and compete against fellow students in a fun and educational environment.

Registration opens on 3 June at 17:00 through the ISA Passive Members Group Chat and Instagram.

Today we’re celebrating our Vice President, Rita! 💛

Rita has been in ISA the longest, from PR to VP, she’s basically seen every version of this team and survived all of them (a true achievement in itself).

She is our official social butterfly 🦋, effortlessly charismatic, knows everyone, talks to everyone, and somehow always shows up looking like she stepped out of a “corporate chic Pinterest board”, even for the most random events. Honestly unfair. 💼✨

At the same time, Rita is the perfect mix:
she loves cozy nights, staying in, being with her people, soft life energy… BUT the second there’s a random plan? She might say yes immediately or ignore you completely depending on “the vibe” 😭

She is always kind, always polite, but don’t be fooled… She has the rare talent of putting you in your place in the most polite, graceful way possible. 💅

And if you have ever been in a car with Rita, you know there is a 100% chance Taylor Swift is playing, no exceptions, no negotiations, just pure Swiftie energy. 🎶

ISA x Golden Point Arena

Whether you’re a seasoned smasher or you’ve never touched a padel racket in your life, this one’s for you.

RSU’s International Student Association is partnering with Golden Point Arena, one of Riga’s premier padel clubs, for a morning of rallies, competition, and good energy. No experience needed. All levels welcome. Just show up ready to have fun.

The tournament will be played in a Winners Court format. This means you do not need a fixed partner. Players will rotate and be paired randomly throughout the event, while collecting points individually. After each round, winners move closer to the Winners Court, so everyone gets a chance to play, compete, and climb the ranking.

Come with your friends and we’ll pair you up on the day across 6 courts.

Date: Sunday, May 10th
Time: 10:00–12:00
Venue: Golden Point Arena, Gustava Zemgala gatve 77-k-2, Rīga
Entry: €5 — CASH ONLY, paid on the day
Spots: 24 only. First come, first served
Arrival: Please get to the venue 30 minutes before, at 09:30

Please wear comfortable sports clothes and suitable shoes. Rackets and balls will be provided.

Today we celebrate our two most beautiful girls! Although they share the same birthday, they couldn’t be more different from one another… and we honestly love both energies. 🥳✨

On one side, we have Muskan 🇮🇳, our President, ISA powerhouse, full-time student, and somehow also working another job at night… which still remains a mystery to us.

She is the definition of organised, composed, and always five steps ahead of everything. 
And let’s talk about the presence: perfectly matched blazers, suit pants always on point, never a bad outfit, never a bad hair day, just constant boss energy. Honestly, she makes professionalism look effortless.

Outside of work mode, she’s an incredible dancer and lights up instantly whenever Bollywood music plays. 💃

On the other side, we have Mariana 🇵🇹🇧🇷, our thoughtful, deeply caring, and incredibly insightful queen. The kind of person you can have the longest conversations with, because she truly listens, reflects, and always sees every angle before giving advice.

She’s loyal, intelligent, always questioning things, and has this very “double-check everything” mindset that somehow makes her even more reliable.
Also: surviving on 4 hours of sleep is absolutely part of her personality at this point 😭

Two very different people, but both equally inspiring, grounded, and special to ISA in their own ways.

Happy birthday to you both, we’re so lucky to have you! 🎉✨
