Our tasks are the following:
a) Implement and maintain efforts to facilitate the integration of international students in the RSU community. b) Provide information, offer advice and relegate to appropriate entities in order to help students with questions or concerns. c) Represent the opinions of the international students in matters affecting their interests at RSU. e) Coordinate and organize social events. f) Promote constructive collaboration among students, staff, organizations and other entities at RSU. g) Further the interests of the international community at RSU and promote cross-cultural competence.

Starting university can feel overwhelming with new routines, new expectations, and a whole new way of studying.

This Zoom session is specially designed for RSU freshers who want to better understand student life and make the most out of their university experience.

We’ll talk honestly about what it’s really like to study at RSU: managing academics, adapting to the workload, balancing life and studies, and learning from the challenges that every student faces.

Most importantly, this will be an open and interactive space where you can ask any questions you have about RSU, studying strategies, exams, or student life in general.

Today we’re celebrating our one and only Seham 🥳✨💛

Seham is the kind of person who brings energy into every room she walks into. Endlessly talkative, effortlessly funny, and somehow able to befriend someone within a single conversation. Honestly, after talking to her once, you’re just in the friend group already 😭

She’s the life of every gathering: full of ideas, always up to something spontaneous, and the one convincing everyone that yes, we absolutely need to go to the park again (even in questionable weather). 🌳✨

As Social Media Manager for Asian Society, she’s brought so much creativity, freshness, and positive energy to the community. The kind of person who turns ideas into something everyone actually enjoys. 💛

She also has the biggest heart: she genuinely loves celebrating the people around her and making them feel special, always showing up for others in the sweetest way.

And when it’s time to lock in? She locks in. Her work ethic is no joke, especially when it comes to her role as Liaison Officer, where she handles everything with care, dedication, and ease.

Basically: Seham is chaos, sunshine, kindness, and discipline all in one person… and ISA is very lucky to have her. 🫶✨

Last week we celebrated Gbemi’s birthday 🥳✨

Gbemi is one of those people everyone knows — and everyone likes. A true social butterfly, always present at every party, always bringing energy, and somehow also managing to be late to absolutely everything… but still guaranteed to show up no matter what 😭

Originally from Nigeria 🇳🇬, he only speaks English and German — thanks to some very strict teachers — but honestly, he communicates perfectly through vibes, energy, and being the nicest person in the room.

He once dreamed of becoming an actor, and now he’s somehow balancing medical school while also being a part-time DJ at some of Riga’s biggest parties 🎧🔥 (because apparently one demanding career was not enough).

He’s outgoing, easy to talk to, effortlessly friendly, and genuinely one of the kindest people you can meet. The kind of person who makes every room better just by being in it. 💛

We would like to extend our sincere congratulations to all RSU graduates as you reach this important milestone in your academic and professional journey. Your dedication, perseverance, and commitment throughout the years are truly commendable.

We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to all former ISA Board members, as well as to all board members of each National, Social, Academic and Sports Societies who are graduating today. Your leadership, responsibility, and continuous efforts have played a vital role in strengthening our student community and ensuring its growth and success.

Think your suturing skills are among the best at RSU? It’s time to put them to the test!

Join us for an exciting individual competition where 40 participants will compete across multiple surgical skill stations, including knot tying, simple interrupted sutures, mattress sutures, intradermal closure, and a surgical knowledge Kahoot. Participants will be scored on precision, technique, efficiency, tissue handling, and surgical knowledge.

🏆 Prize: The winner will receive a professional surgical suturing kit!

📅 Date: 10 June, 17:30
📍 Location: METC
👥 Participants: Limited to 40 students

Whether you’re just starting to learn suturing or already have surgical experience, this is a great opportunity to challenge yourself, improve your skills, and compete against fellow students in a fun and educational environment.

Registration opens on 3 June at 17:00 through the ISA Passive Members Group Chat and Instagram.

Today we’re celebrating our Vice President, Rita! 💛

Rita has been in ISA the longest, from PR to VP, she’s basically seen every version of this team and survived all of them (a true achievement in itself).

She is our official social butterfly 🦋, effortlessly charismatic, knows everyone, talks to everyone, and somehow always shows up looking like she stepped out of a “corporate chic Pinterest board”, even for the most random events. Honestly unfair. 💼✨

At the same time, Rita is the perfect mix:
she loves cozy nights, staying in, being with her people, soft life energy… BUT the second there’s a random plan? She might say yes immediately or ignore you completely depending on “the vibe” 😭

She is always kind, always polite, but don’t be fooled… She has the rare talent of putting you in your place in the most polite, graceful way possible. 💅

And if you have ever been in a car with Rita, you know there is a 100% chance Taylor Swift is playing, no exceptions, no negotiations, just pure Swiftie energy. 🎶
