🦷 Bringing Baltic dental students together at RSU!

This autumn, more than 60 dental students from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia came together in Rīga for Baltic Reunion– an initiative built around learning, professional exchange and connections across the Baltic States.

Hosted at Rīga Stradiņš University, the three-day programme combined lectures and insights into dentistry with a closer look at the RSU Institute of Stomatology, networking, and time to discover Rīga.

Because university life is not only about what happens in the classroom – it is also about the people you meet, the ideas you exchange and the professional connections you build along the way. 🇱🇻🇱🇹🇪🇪

👏 A big thank you to the Latvian Dental Students Association and everyone involved in making Baltic Reunion happen!

Every Welcome Week, hundreds of new students arrive at RSU. We learn where they come from and what they are here to study. But those facts tell us very little about the people themselves.

That’s why every year we look for the stories behind the intake. We invite a few of the people we meet for an interview and photoshoot – simply because we want to know more about them.

This year, we thought it might be difficult to find a country we had never featured before. Instead, we found something better: stories we wanted to hear.

Meet Jesper and Hauke, twin brothers from Germany who graduated from high school in New Zealand. 🇩🇪🇳🇿 And there was another connection we didn’t expect – their mum had once been to Riga and still carries the city close to her heart. Now her sons have made Riga their home for the next chapter of their lives.

Then there’s Sofy. Young, determined and clear about where she wants to go. She carries two countries with her – Bulgaria and Ukraine. 🇧🇬🇺🇦 We listened to her story and her ambitions, and we’re glad that RSU can be part of her path towards a future in global medicine.

Three students. Several countries. Very different journeys. And one place where those journeys now meet.

Thank you, Jesper, Hauke and Sofy, for sharing your stories with us – and for your patience in front of the camera. ❤️

And thank you to Margherita, who once again proved to be a brilliant interviewer and helped us get beyond the usual questions.

🎬 Stay tuned. Soon, we’ll let them tell you their stories themselves.
