It’s easy to feel isolated, but we can’t forget the deep, long history that anchors us all.

At the heart of our Tamghrabit is our Amazigh identity, it’s in our language, our history, and our art. And this year, The 8th Edition of Al Akhawayn Short Film Festival is honoring the roots that connect us.

We are proud to reveal the theme for ASFF 8: Cinema of Tamazgha

Amazigh cinema is a tool of resistance, a way to reclaim our narrative from folklore and over-branding. So ASFF is intending to explore the possibilities of our visual narrative through Cinema.

A massive thank you to our Filmmakers, the student and guest professional filmmakers joining us. Your vision is the bridge between our history and our future.
Full guest reveal coming extremely soon! 👀

And more thanks to the . Being able to build this entire festival around such deep research was only possible through the existing incredible research done by the New York Forum of Amazigh Film on the theme.
Thank you for the inspiration and the foundation.
