Environment Day Outreach at Open University of Mauritius Curepipe Campus (OUCC), Forest Side, in collaboration with Forestry Services, Morivert and Ecosystem Restoration Alliance.

Our students showcased a wide range of innovative projects on environmental sustainability, demonstrating creativity, awareness, and a commitment to a greener future. ♻️

The event also marked the inauguration of our Medicinal, Endemic & Exotic Gardens🌱

In line with our commitment to sustainable practices, we officially launched the Save Energy Campaign, encouraging responsible energy consumption.

Another key moment was the launch of the OU Eco-Club, which will empower students to lead and participate in environmental initiatives and awareness activities.

Together, we are taking meaningful steps towards building a more sustainable future. 🌍💚

The Director-General of the Open University of Mauritius, Dr Dinesh Surroop, welcomed Mr Amitabh Ranjan, Second Secretary (Education) from the High Commission of India in Mauritius.

Mr Ranjan is currently overseeing the Education and ITEC Department.

The meeting focused on:

* Higher education collaboration
* Professional development and training opportunities
* Academic cooperation
* The Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme in Mauritius

The Open University of Mauritius looks forward to further collaboration for the advancement of education and human capital development.

The Open University of Mauritius welcomes a delegation from ZimTrade as part of a strategic learning mission to Mauritius focused on understanding the country’s successful transition towards a services-led economy.

ZimTrade is Zimbabwe’s Trade Development and Promotion Organisation, mandated to promote, develop and facilitate the export of Zimbabwean goods and services into regional and international markets.

Representing ZimTrade were Mrs MAFU Vuyiswa and Mrs MAPHALA Nozipho Natasha, who engaged in fruitful discussions with OU, whose representatives highlighted the University’s diverse programme offerings, ongoing innovations, institutional achievements, and the pivotal role of higher education institutions in driving economic transformation, digital advancement, and international engagement.
