🌿 Doha College Souillac Supports the Mauritius Cleanup Day 🇲🇺

Today, Thursday 17 September, Doha College Souillac proudly participated in the Mauritius Cleanup Day, demonstrating our strong commitment to environmental sustainability and community responsibility.

Approximately **50 students and 12 members of staff** came together to clean and improve the surrounding environment. The initiative encouraged teamwork, civic responsibility and environmental awareness among our learners, while inspiring them to play an active role in building a cleaner and greener Mauritius. 🌱

We would like to extend our **heartfelt thanks to the members of the Mauritius Police Force and The District Council of Savanne for their valuable help and support throughout the initiative.

Together, we can make a difference! 💚🇲🇺

Hotels standing next to schools standing next to NGOs standing next to community groups — each running their own cleanup, collaborating or supporting a cleanup, all building Mauritius Cleanup Day 2026 from day one, before this was anything more than an idea.

Every event logged. Every bag counted, weighed, and converted into verified CO2-equivalent data — using international methodology (ISO 14040, GHG Protocol), the same standard used in official emissions reporting.

Not estimated. Not self-reported. Checked.

It becomes Mauritius's first National Impact Report — the first of its kind produced by any country, anywhere. Published publicly, so the world can see exactly what this island removed, and what that's actually worth.

Our school proudly reached the finals of this year's Innoved Competition. Although we did not secure the winning spot, our journey was filled with creativity and teamwork. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Oozeer and Mr. Punjoo for their invaluable guidance and to our amazing students who gave their full capacity to this project.

A workshop on epilepsy was organised by the Doha College Souillac to our teaching staffs and students. The students were motivated as the talk was enriching and supported by technical terms such as common neurological condition characterized by recurrent seizures. Early diagnosis, appropriate treatment, and public awareness were emphasised and greatly improve outcomes for people living with epilepsy. By learning about epilepsy, we can help create a more informed and supportive society especially to our students.
We seized the opportunity to thank all the personals involved in the workshop in our school. Special thanks to the manager, rector and all staffs of doha college souillac.
