Sometimes, discovering that a story like yours is worth telling can change everything. ✨📚

Reid Wittliff, Wittliff Family Representative, shares how his father realized the places, experiences, and people he knew could belong in books, photography, and film—a realization that gave him the courage to pursue his own creative path.

That same idea became part of The Wittliff Collections' purpose: to help young people see that their perspectives matter and inspire them to create something of their own.

A photograph can preserve a moment and open the door to an entire story. 📸✨

Marise McDermott, Executive Director of The Wittliff Collections, reflects on how photography can capture a specific time and place in Mexico, revealing moments of childhood, everyday life, and unexpected beauty.

For her, that sense of wonder is part of what makes photography so powerful: every image is a gift shaped by the photographer’s vision and a new way of seeing the world.
