ALOR SETAR, 7 October 2026 - The Centre of Reference, Albukhary International University (AIU), hosted the fifth session of its Knowledge Connect: Expert Librarians Series on 2 October 2026, themed โ€œGetting Published: A Simple Guide to Writing and Submitting a Research Paper.โ€

The session was delivered by Puan Beghum Ulfhat Shehnaaz binti Amir Razali, Senior Deputy Director of the Strategic and International Planning Division (BPSA), who shared practical insights from her experience in research writing and scholarly publication, including international platforms such as IFLA and Persidangan Tahunan Perpustakaan Malaysia (PTPM).

Participants explored how everyday library programmes, services, and workplace challenges can become meaningful starting points for research. The session highlighted the importance of documenting outcomes and impact, identifying research gaps, developing research questions, structuring papers, and selecting suitable publication avenues.

A key takeaway was simple: start writing from what you already do.By documenting and sharing their professional practices, library professionals can contribute valuable knowledge, strengthen professional visibility, and support broader goals such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
