Bittersweet moments today at the Wireless Research@UKM Lab.

We gathered for what might be our final meeting with Dr. Sani as he wraps up his research activities with us. Dr. Sani has been with the lab since 2020. It has been a privilege to have his expertise in the lab, and we wish him nothing but the best in his next chapter!

On a brighter note, the lab is growing! We are thrilled to officially welcome Clement Frassier, a 4th-year student from Polytech Montpellier, France. Clement will be exercising his internship with us from April through August.

Welcome to the team, Clement, and thank you, Dr. Sani!

We’re excited to celebrate the hard work and success of our Master by Coursework students from Wireless@UKM! 🌟

Taghreed completed her project on “Machine Learning–Based Cyberattack Detection and Security Enhancement in 5G Networks.” Your work is a meaningful step forward for secure, intelligent future networks. Well done!

Yasir completed his project on “Optimizing User Association for Better Load Balancing in B5G Networks using Matching Game Theory.” A brilliant take on solving real-world network congestion challenges. Great job!

Also in the photo, Mustafa who has also successfully defended his project, "An Integrated Deep Learning Framework for Dangerous Animal Detection and Human Behavior Classification in Orchard Surveillance Systems" with the Photonics Lab@UKM. A unique and impactful contribution toward safer, AI-assisted monitoring for agricultural environments. Excellent work!

Your achievements make us proud.
May this milestone be the beginning of many more successes in your future engineering journey!

Read our latest piece from e-estidotmy titled “Responsible Artificial Intelligence Starts with You” A great reminder of how important responsible thinking is as AI becomes part of our everyday lives. From unlocking our phones to shaping recommendations on apps we use daily, AI decisions now influence everything from education to healthcare.

The article highlights that responsible AI isn’t just for researchers or engineers, it’s something all of us should understand and care about, and nurture in our kids.

Simple2 initiatives proposed in the article are exactly what we need to strengthen STEM education and innovation, not just learning what technology can do, but how we use it responsibly and fairly. 🙌

Artificial intelligence is already part of daily life. Responsible AI calls on everyone to question bias, demand fairness, and shape technology for good.

Alhamdulillah, our team’s latest paper on the evolution of 5G-Advanced toward 6G is now published.
We started this work with a simple question: What exactly have the standards achieved so far and what still stands in the way of 6G?

This publication represents the combined effort of an amazing team and the support of our research community.
Here’s to more impactful research, collaborations, and contributions to the future of wireless communication.

The anticipated transition from 5G to 6G is driven not by incremental performance demands but by a widening mismatch between emerging application requirements and the capabilities of existing cellular systems. Despite rapid progress across 3GPP Releases 15–20, the current literature lacks a unifie...
