UTHM Empowering TVET at Changemaker Youth Leadership Camp (CYLC) 2026! 🎓✨

Today, 26 August 2026, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) took part in the Changemaker Youth Leadership Camp (CYLC) Batch II - Chapter Malaysia held in Kuala Lumpur. During the knowledge sharing session, Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Affero Bin Ismail represented UTHM as the key speaker, sharing valuable insights on TVET, future skills, and the preparation of youth for the global workforce with participants from Indonesia.

To complement the session, Dr. Abdul Hamid and Mr. Mohd Hazrul Fadli Bin Mohd Yusoff joined as UTHM promotion officers to guide the Indonesian participants through admission details, academic programs, and the vibrant learning environment at UTHM. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with bright young minds from Indonesia and showcase UTHM’s commitment to shaping global leaders through TVET education! 🤝🚀

🌏 STUDY IN MALAYSIA THAILAND 2026

The International Office, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), successfully participated in the Study in Malaysia Thailand 2026 programme, held from 9 to 13 August 2026 across Chiang Mai, Bangkok and Hat Yai, Thailand.

The programme aimed to promote UTHM and Malaysia as a preferred higher education destination while strengthening collaboration with educational institutions and strategic partners in Thailand.

Representing UTHM were Ts. Dr. Furzani binti Pa'ee, Dr. Mimi Faisyalini binti Ramli, and Pattharaporn Loonlawan, who previously completed her internship at the International Office, UTHM.

Throughout the programme, the delegation participated in education fairs, B2B networking sessions and university visits, providing opportunities to engage with prospective students, education partners and institutions.

The programme also served as a valuable platform to promote UTHM's academic programmes and international opportunities, while strengthening UTHM's presence and connections in Thailand.

UTHM Champions Science, Technology & TVET at Seminar Pendidikan Tinggi Malaysia 2026 & Mega Ayo Kuliah di Malaysia 2026 🎓🇲🇾🇮🇩

Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) showcased its academic excellence and regional commitment at the Seminar Pendidikan Tinggi Malaysia 2026 and Mega Ayo Kuliah di Malaysia 2026, in Jakarta, Indonesia.

At the Seminar Pendidikan Tinggi Malaysia 2026, organized by Education Malaysia Indonesia (EMI) under the theme "Sinergi Serantau, Impak Global", UTHM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Prof. Dr. Afandi Bin Ahmad, was invited as a key speaker and he was accompanied by Mr. Nur Azam Bin Mohd Napis (Special Officer).

Meanwhile, at the Mega Ayo Kuliah di Malaysia 2026 education fair (11–12 July 2026), organized by Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), Ts. Dr. Furzani binti Pa'ee and Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Nurhayati Binti Rosly represented UTHM as key exhibitors. They provided direct guidance on academic programmes, TVET-based learning pathways, and admission details to prospective Indonesian students, parents, and strategic partners.

This active dual participation highlights UTHM's dedicated effort to expand global education networks, promote TVET capabilities, and reinforce its position as a preferred higher education destination in the region.

UTHM MOBILITY HIGHLIGHT

UTHM STUDENTS’ JOURNEY AT FPT SUMMER CAMP 2026 — VIETNAM 🇻🇳

Four UTHM students, Rahul Muhanthan (FKEE), Nur Amiza Binti Mohd Hairul (FTK), Muhammad Suhail Widad (FKEE), and Ng Jie Ren (FTK), recently embarked on an enriching international learning journey at the FPT Summer Camp 2026: Global Sustainability, Local Creativities in Da Nang, Vietnam, from 9 to 18 August 2026.

Throughout the programme, they experienced a diverse range of activities, including:

🌱 Learning about sustainability challenges in Da Nang and Design Thinking
🇻🇳 Experiencing Vietnamese language and culture
💼 Visiting a social entrepreneurship initiative
🤝 Participating in community service and volunteer activities
🌿 Exploring sustainable agriculture and community tourism in Hoa Bac with the local Co Tu community
🎶 Joining INTERFEST Cultural Exchange and Music Fest
🏮 Experiencing Hoi An through lantern-making, basket boat activities and Hoi An discovery
🏕️ Taking part in camping and reflection activities
🎓 Concluding the programme with a closing ceremony

Rahul Muhanthan shared:

“It was my first time visiting Vietnam and the experience gave me the opportunity to explore not only a new country but also new perspectives through sustainability, culture and community-based activities. What made the experience truly meaningful, however, was the people I met along the way. The friendships, conversations and constant laughter turned every experience into a lasting memory. I am grateful for the connections made during this journey, and I hope they continue well beyond the camp.”

The programme provided a valuable platform to learn beyond the classroom, experience a different culture, explore sustainability in a local context and build meaningful international connections. 🌏✨

On 27 July to 7 August 2026, we are proud to announce the successful participation of our student delegation at the KOREATECH Summer School 2026 ("Modern Korean Society through K-Culture"), held at the Korea University of Technology and Education in Cheonan, Republic of Korea.

Representing various faculties, our students engaged in an intensive two week academic and cultural exchange program designed to enhance global engineering perspectives, technological competence, and cross-cultural understanding.

1. Advanced Technology & Innovation: Hands-on exposure to Smart Factory facilities, Robotics, AR/VR technology.
2. Industry Integration: Site visits to industry leaders, including Samsung Innovation Museum
3. Cultural Competency: Immersion in Korean language, Taekwondo, traditional culinary sessions, and historical visits to the National Museum of Korea and Aquapark Dangjin.

We extend our highest appreciation to KOREATECH and the Office of International Affairs for hosting our students and fully supporting their tuition, accommodation, and cultural excursions.

🇲🇾🇻🇳 UTHM WORKING VISIT TO HANOI UNIVERSITY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING (HUCE)

Following the ATU-Net International Staff Week 2026 in Hanoi, UTHM made a working visit to Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) on 20 August 2026.

The delegation was led by Ms. Yeoh Li Cheng, Head of Department, International Mobility and Student Experience (IMSE), International Office, accompanied by Ts. Dr. Ruzaimah binti Razman, Principal Researcher, Advanced Built Environment Sustainability (ADVANCED BESTy) and Mobility Coordinator, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Built Environment (FKAAB).

We were received by Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Director of the International Cooperation Department, and Ms. L. B. Chau of the same department, at Building A1, HUCE.

The discussion covered:
🔹 Student and staff mobility
🔹 Research collaboration

Both sides share strong ground in civil engineering and built environment, and we look forward to taking this conversation further.
