Climate Heroes Challenge: From Waste to a Green Future

On 13 June 2026, a STEM and environmental awareness workshop entitled “From Waste to a Green Future” was successfully conducted at SM Chung Hua, Kampung Dhobi, 71000 Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.

The workshop brought together 30 participants from four primary schools, providing an interactive platform for students to explore sustainability, environmental conservation, and scientific innovation through hands-on activities.

Throughout the workshop, students were introduced to climate change, food waste management, and sustainable living practices. One of the main activities involved preparing an eco-enzyme through fermentation, during which participants learned how fruit peels, sugar, and water can be transformed into useful, eco-friendly products by microorganisms. This activity highlighted the importance of resource recovery and the potential of fermentation as a sustainable way to reduce food waste.
